Did you believe the first time you heard the gospel? .
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭

i believe

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But …..do I ?

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Faith is always growing according to what we hear and believe

The number of the elect is a number that is fixed and certain. It cannot increase or decrease.
We do not know who they are ,so we preach to all men
These are your words,

if they are not one of the elect they have no hope of salvation because the number is fixed, therefore for those who have not made the salvation list you are lying by telling them they can be saved because you have stated it yourself that the number is fixed.

I do not lie and tell them that Jesus died for them, or Jesus loves them.

I can tell them biblically That the Lord Jesus Christ has died for sinners.

I can tell them that the love of God is only found IN CHRIST, not apart from Him.

To remain apart from Jesus is to remain in the realm of death.
No you absolutely do lie to them!! The Bible says God wants no one to perish and the He loves the World!! He came to die for sinners, He was nailed to the cross for their sins and ours. Not everyone that hears the Bible accepts or understands it. But that doesn't mean you stop telling them the truth, praying for them and inviting them to church.

Who is the audience? Was this post resurrection under grace? Who is Jesus talking about? Gentiles? Disciples? Jews?

Taking a couple of scriptures out of context is not good bible study.
We could quote the whole Bible for context. These truths are for all people for all time. No need to fragment scripture to avoid the truth.
You cannot answer this can you?
here I will give you another one you cannot respond to.Heb2:
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

These are your words,

if they are not one of the elect they have no hope of salvation because the number is fixed, therefore for those who have not made the salvation list you are lying by telling them they can be saved because you have stated it yourself that the number is fixed.
Hello HIH,
There is no lying when you stick to bible truth!
I tell sinners what Jesus declared.
All that The Father has given to Jesus, are going to come to him.
No more, no less,
Then I ask them if they have come to Jesus yet.
There is no discussion of any list. We know God has elected a multitude to come to Jesus.
This is a fact.
We are not given any list, just the facts to declare to sinners.

God saves sinners In Christ.

Let's try this again. It's a simple question. Can you know without a shadow of a doubt you are saved and going to heaven. Yes or No?! A Sunday school child can answer this.
Did you have trouble reading the link which was very clear?
let's try a smaller portion of scripture.
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Your yes or no theology does not get it done.

Everyone believing, and continuing on in a state of belief by a God given faith are one of the elect.
Those who mock and scoff at the biblical doctrine of election are spoken of in scripture as ..UNBELIEVERS.
I scoff at the heresy of calvinism and I’m saved. God’s Word says so.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

[No you absolutely do lie to them!! ]

Not at all, as we will see by reading your sincere but mistaken posts.

[The Bible says God wants no one to perish]

The bible does not say this anywhere. You have to mangle the text and cut it in half to make it teach what you want, rather than what it actually says

[and the He loves the World!!]

He has children scattered worldwide, but the world of the ungodly will perish outside of Christ as in the days of Noah.
[He came to die for sinners,]

Yes He did, we agree here as you have made a biblical statement.

[ He was nailed to the cross for their sins and ours.]

He died a Covenant death for those the Father gave to Him.

[Not everyone that hears the Bible accepts or understands it.]

The natural man cannot understand it 1cor2:14....No one accepts anything. It is not for us to "accept as if we pass judgement on the commands of God

[ But that doesn't mean you stop telling them the truth, praying for them and inviting them to church.]

Now this is correct and biblical, we are to urge and seek to remove obstacles , to persuade men to repent and believe, to seek God for mercy. No one has said anything different. We can remain biblical without watering down the gospel declaration.

I scoff at the heresy of calvinism and I’m saved. God’s Word says so.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
My friend, I cannot read your heart, but I can read your post! Jesus and the Apostles, and prophets all taught what is described as Calvinism. So I would be reluctant if I were you to boast of your scoffing of these truths, when you do not understand or cannot present these truths. The truth comes from the Spirit of God, and yet you boast that you scoff at it?

2pet.3-
Paul spoke of such persons;
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Be careful friend!

I would postulate that in the 2000 years since Jesus left this world to be back with the Father, that there have been WAY more than 144,000 people that have fit that definition of yours.
Therefore, I believe you are not one of them. The boat was filled long ago. It has sailed. You weren't on it. Sorry.....

But, if you read and understand the scriptures correctly.... you still have hope. Jesus came to save you, and me, and everyone else that believes in him, and receives the free gift of salvation.
Who mentioned 144000? Are you a JW?

No need to fragment scripture to avoid the truth.
That's exactly what Calvinist's do...fragment scripture. For example, for whom did Christ die?

1. For all (1 Tim. 2:6; Isa. 53:6).
2. For every man (Heb. 2:9).
3. For the world (John 3:16).
4. For the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2).
5. For the ungodly (Rom. 5:6).
6. For false teachers (2 Peter 2:1).
7. For many (Matt. 20:28).
8. For Israel (John 11:50-51).
9. For the Church (Eph. 5:25).
10. For “me” (Gal. 2:20).

It is evident that the Calvinist must ignore the clear language and obvious sense of many passages and he must force the Scriptures and make them fit into his own theological mold. Limited atonement may seem logical and reasonable, but the real test is this: Is it Biblical? “What saith the Scriptures?” (Rom. 4:3). In childlike faith we must simply allow the Bible to say what it says.

No need to be careful when Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. My faith is in Him, not theology.

Who mentioned 144000? Are you a JW?
Please don't play stupid. You know, or should know from all my posts that I am not a JW.
That is the number that is bandied about by everyone that claims there is a finite number of the "elect".... I was simply using it as a talking point.

How many do YOU think are the "elect" ? Do you believe there is a number, or is it simply whoever responds to the invitation of Jesus?

Some call "receiving" a work that nullifies the free gift as a gift, and somehow cancels God's grace.

Getting on board with such people... well, let's just say, it doesn't float my boat

Such as?

The bible does not say this anywhere. You have to mangle the text and cut it in half to make it teach what you want, rather than what it actually says

All quoted directly. None cut in half or changed.

2 Pet. "not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."

1 Tim "Who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Ezekiel 33:11 "Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people...

Ezekiel 18:32
For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”

Romans 5:8
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16-17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Isaiah 45:22
“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth!

Luke 15
3 So he told them this parable: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

He has children scattered worldwide, but the world of the ungodly will perish outside of Christ as in the days of Noah

He loves the sinner!! That is the point!

Yes He did, we agree here as you have made a biblical statement.

As as the statements above. Directly from the Word.

He died a Covenant death for those the Father gave to Him.

He died for all, whosoever will.

The natural man cannot understand it 1cor2:14....No one accepts anything. It is not for us to "accept as if we pass judgement on the commands of God

A seed is planted, watered, it grows. Some stay in rebellion for years before the come to fully know the Lord.

Now this is correct and biblical, we are to urge and seek to remove obstacles , to persuade men to repent and believe, to seek God for mercy. No one has said anything different. We can remain biblical without watering down the gospel declaration.

Well at least we can agree on something!
