Yes, His Spirit testifies with our own spirit that we are children of God. Now, there some proof you can be eternally secure in.

If we possess eternal life now, we must, by definition possess it eternally. Otherwise it would not be eternal life, but only temporal life.

It is. This is why Christianity has been at the forefront of feeding the hungry, giving clean water to those who thirst, housing the poor, clothing the naked, visiting those in prisons, and providing healthcare to the sick.....from our very beginning.

Fighting for the faith is work. However I disagree about why we work.

I say we work for love of God not our own salvation.in a way we work to lead others to Christ so they may enjoy their life as children of God.

No matter what we do or not do we will still physically die. Your analogy makes no sense.you don't work to be alive and no amount of work will keep you from dying.

I think you are confused by mixing what it means to be born again and adopted into the family of God and when God gives us new heavenly bodies.

While we are alive in the flesh we are fetus, but when we physically die we can be born into the world to come, or is when we leave the womb.

Actually, a body does work to stay alive. If a body stops working it will die. And it takes work to keep a body functioning properly.

Your post makes me laugh... it is so sensible and accurate... but here in the US... there is a mentality for "leisure, relaxation and sedentary living which has caused a startling percentage of the population to be lazy and sickly. Which is not funny, but TRUE!

You did not address my point, what do you do that will have you live forever and not physically die?

Well I did address one point... but as to the other, there is nothing we can do to stay alive forever. But I didn't address this because I don't understand your point.
 
Just as we can not keep our physical bodies alive forever, just as we can not make ourselves be born or have physical life. We can not work for eternal life.

We can not make ourselves children of God.He must adopt us. He must give us life.

What we do with that life can be part of what determines how long and how our bodies will hold up to this world.

We must know always that God gives us life both temporal in these current body and eternal in our future bodies.

We don't work to earn it. But grow and function to please our father.

That's correct that we can't do anything to work for eternal life (it is a gift), but once we have it we can (must) work to insure that we abide in it. Much scripture has to be ignored to deny this. Unfortunately, that seems to be what a lot of people do.

Is eternal eternal. or did God lie?

Mortality has nothign to do with it, He never promised we would never die physically, It is eternal spiritual life he is talking about. A relationship with hinm, which will not be broken by even physical death.
Death lost its sting, because it has no power over the children of God.

Unless salvation is not assured, then it has power.

Then you do not have eternal life. Its all a sham. God lied, and lets all go back to sin and living it up. For we have no hope.
