As many of you know I'm 19 and 18 weeks pregnant. Recently the father of my baby and I have been talking about things he would have to do to get back with me. At the same time, I'm not sure if I can trust him again, and I just want to feel peaceful either way it turns out. I feel like I'm constantly having large shifts in my mood. And the constant feeling of having to have a guy in my life. How do you reach the point of having peace beyond all understanding?

Well, that peace that passes human understanding is the peace of God.

I have to say , sometimes I have it, and sometimes I don't. It's a soul-searching, hard work type of thing. Hard work because we're always having to get ourselves out of the way, so God can fill us up. We're so full of 'ourselves' :) That Fall just ruined a lot of things :)

But the good news is, that we are Redeemed. And therefore capable of having that peace.

You're going through a rough time right now and I do pray for you peace, calmness, wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes, you just have to take one step at a time towards that peace :)

Many women feel like they 'have to have a guy in their life' but the question is, is he a guy you really want a relationship with? Is he going to be good for the baby? If you need counseling, most crisis pregnancy centers have counselors (not planned parenthood).

Hiya ericka; I'm one member that hasn't been aware that you are pregnant so I send you every good & heartfelt wish during this time. Our experience of my wife's pregnancies were simply part of the most wonderful times of our marriage.
I have no doubt that, as our sons birth was an emergency Caesarian, our God was looking after us. And because our daughter was also a Caesarian, I'm sure that, without our God on our side, things could easily have been a lot more traumatic than they actually were. Both our kids were born on 20/3 exactly a year apart so our "traumatic" experiences at least can be endured annually!
Because I practice Shotokan karate my inner peace comes from the meditation & discipline of the mind required to perform many of the kata. Shotokan is a martial art that is far removed from merely kicking & punching lumps of wood & concrete.
A couple of years ago I & some of my colleagues from our dojo were privileged to visit a Shaolin temple in China & it was here that we were made aware of the basics of true inner peace & how to build upon it & maintain it. It is something that cannot be taught however, enjoying a true & committed relationship with your God-however you perceive him to be - one day the peace you seek will suddenly become known to you & will remain in your soul as long as you can keep up your relationship with your God.
If you are like me, that contentment & understanding will already be on its way to your soul & once with you will never desert you.
God bless; J+

Seek God first, acknowledge Him in all things and put everything in His hands, and you shall have peace beyond understanding. God bless

Praying for you and your baby! I can't imagine all the feelings you must be experiencing, BUT I do know that the Lord can give you that peace you are seeking. Keep praying about whether you should let this man back into your life. He obviously isn't there for a reason. It's not a race, so you really can take your time in deciding what to do.

Let the Lord be your peace. Trust that HE will always be there and help you through situations and your emotions, you just have to seek Him and wait on His timing. Praying that the Lord blesses you greatly as you are going through this! God bless!

Personally, the only time(s) I have ever felt such peace is when is when I pushed all cares aside and pursued the presence of God through deligent prayer, bible reading and worship. However, often times God will meet us exactly where we are at the moment we decide to turn it all over to Him. God interacts with people differently however, if you really want His peace then you must start by pursuing His presence.

I realize that you must be going through a lot right now. I wish could explain things in such a way that you could easily receive the results that you are looking for however, I can only share with you my own experiences and pray that God, in his infinite mercy and grace will reach out to you where you are. :)

ERICKA!!!!!!!

When I had Wes I was 20. His dad, and I are not together which I now see as a blessing. Just trust in God. Ask him for guidance, and he will help. Also if you ever need to talk I am here. To help and encourage. I've been there and done that. You're doing great!
