really good post. I agree that one of the main issues is that people ignore or reject or omit scripture that doesnt support whatever personal view they have. in the end i think its spirit v flesh.....good post thanks for taking the time to share

Thank you! and praise Yah! for it was Yah showing me Psalm 89:26-37 that really got me praying and seeking in this matter! It is a tough and complex subject I will admit.

None can enter in without His mercy, no doubt, but to think what we do does not matter goes against Scripture.

I have 2 questions please:

1 - Is this Scripture true:

Yahanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned."

2 - And is it true or a lie when it is written "and their works follow with them"

Rev 14:12 Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Ylohim and the belief of יהושע.
Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “in order that they rest from their labours, and their works follow with them.”

I didn't say what we do does not matter in this life - those are your own words. I was showing you the proper context of Col.3:22-25 and it was about slaves receiving no partiality from their master for wrongdoing.

I will answer your questions though as they are good ones. This is also the area where works-based religions miss it such as the keeping of the Moasic Law. The law of Christ is higher and it is Christ -centered.

1)

John 5:29 (KJV)
[SUP]29 [/SUP] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Those who do good are the ones who believe in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and "their righteousness" is found only in Christ's righteousness. - not their own by their good deeds which is a form of self-righteousness of which the law of Moses is a manifestation of.

2)

Revelation 14:12-13 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Here is the patience of the saints:
here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

[SUP]13 [/SUP] And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

The commandments of God in the New Covenant are outlined in 1 John 3:23-24 .

The works that we do - we do by the grace of God in and through us as Paul said .

1 Corinthians 15:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain;
but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

We are branches and He is the Vine and it is Christ's life bearing fruit unto good works that is working in and through us. These are the true works of God that follow the believer in Christ.

I agree that He is the Branch we are the vines, we can do noting right without Him.

But you clearly ignore what is written.

Yahanan (John) 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. If there is only one Commandment:
[h=1] 1 John 3:23-24English Standard Version (ESV)
[/h] [SUP]23 [/SUP]And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. [SUP]24 [/SUP]Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God,and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

Then when Yahshua/Jesus says this:

Mattithyah 22:36-40, "Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law? Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Is He wrong or were His words made obselete
?

And what exactly would it mean to:

"practiced righteousness" / "done good"

or

" practiced wickedness" / "done evil"

and finally, do our works follow us? (rev 14:12-13 and their works follow with them)

Christ has fulfilled the whole Law of Moses. We cannot. We cannot love the Lord our God with all our hearts and we cannot love our neighbor as ourselves.

We will fall short which is why we need a Savior. Which is why the Christian has died to the law of Moses, is released from the law of Moses and is not under the law of Moses.

The #1 commandment of God in the New Covenant - do not forget we are in a New Covenant and not in the Old Covenant = is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and life. The other commandment in 1 John 3:23-24 is to love one another - We love now because He first loved us as 1 John 4:19 says.

Until we understand that reality - the gospel will be a mystery to us and will be trying to keep the Law of Moses for life and living. Until we understand that we are a new creation in Christ - all these will be a complete mystery to us.

I really encourage you to hear the gospel of the grace of God which is in Christ. It will change your life forever.

It was written that there is One we must hear and obey:

Yahanan (John) 5:46-47, "For had you believed Mosheh, you would have believed Me, for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

Mosheh wrote:

Deuteronomy 18:18-19, "I (YHWH) will raise up for them a Prophet (Yahshua/Jesus) like you from among their brothers, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He will tell them everything I command Him. Whoever will not listen to My words, which He speaks in My Name, I will judge him for it"

"listen" is word #8085 שָׁמַע shama` {shaw-mah'}

Brown-Driver-Briggs (Old Testament Hebrew-English Lexicon)
A primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.)

Hebrew Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar) - 1) to hear, listen to, obey

John (Yahanan) 14:6, "Yahshua proclaimed to him: I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father, except through Me."

John (Yahanan) 7:16-17, "Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching--whether it comes from YHWH, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

John (Yahanan) 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

John (Yahanan) 5:24, "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."

Luke 6:46, "And why call Me; Ruler! Ruler! and do not the things which I say?"

Matt 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Revelation 21:1-2, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no more sea. And I, Yahanan, saw the holy city, YHWH Shammah, coming down from YHWH out of heaven, prepared as brides adorned for their husbands. And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of YHWH is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and YHWH Himself will be with them, and be their Father.

Isayah 42:21, "YHWH is well-pleased, for His righteousness' sake, to magnify the Law, and make it honorable"

Mattithyah 5:18-19, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected. Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of YHWH; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of YHWH."

Mattithyah 7:12-14, "Therefore, all things you want men to do to you, do the same to them, for this is (the intent of the) Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

Yahanan (John) 14:15, "If you love Me, keep My commandments."

John (Yahanan) 15:5-16, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and letting My words; abide in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be done for you. In this is My Father glorified: when you produce much fruit; and in this way you become My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; continue in My love. If you keep My Commands, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's Commands, and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be complete. This is My Command: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

John 10:27-30, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will any man snatch them out ofMy hand. My Father, Who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand: I and My Father are in accord."

John/Yahanan 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

Revelation 3:5, "He who overcomes, the same will be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name from The Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His malakim."

I know Him well. I also know His words well, because I seek Him in sincerity. Why because He gave everything for me. So I hope that I may give everything for Him.

Mattithyah 24:35, “Heaven and earth may pass away, but My teachings will not pass away."

John 6:63, "It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The Words that I speak to you, they are Spirit, and they are life everlasting."

Mattithyah 24:35, “Heaven and earth may pass away, but My teachings will not pass away."

Isayah 53, "Who has believed our report? To whom is the arm of YHWH revealed? For He will grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground. He has no form nor comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by YHWH, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and YHWH has laid on Him the iniquity o us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut of from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; but He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet His bruises; willful sacrifice, pleased YHWH; for He was put to much grief. Now He has brought the offering for sin. He will see His seed, He will prolong days, and the pleasure of YHWH will succeed in His hands. He will see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied; by His knowledge My righteous Servant will justify many, for He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the plunder with the strong; because He poured out His soul to death, and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

Yes, thank God, Who blesses us more than we can think or ask.
So does verse 4 and 5 in this passage mean to you that doing good works is counted against you?

and how do you reconcile (however you view that passage) this:

2 Corinthians 5:10 Parallel Verses

The Scriptures
2 Corinthians 5:10, "For we all have to appear before the judgment seat of Messiah, in order for each one to receive according to what he has done in the body, whether righteous or evil."

New International Version
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

For both were written by the same man.

How can doing good count against you? The only caveat being, good in the eyes of the Lord, not our own. I like that word, caveat, but I hardly ever get to use it. So, that was awesome.

How do I reconcile the scriptures you posted with the ones I posted?

If I am not working for a reward, but I have faith in the One who makes me righteous, then I am not at all worried one way or another about receiving a reward or punishment. The only thing I am worried about is representing the Lord in the correct way, the way He really is. Because I know I am blessed by the Lord and not condemned.

How can a person know? Because He reveals Himself to them. By faith.

Basically, if we are all at the judgement seat of the Lord and He says "everyone who wants what they deserve step to the right. Everyone who doesn't want what they deserve, step to the left".

I will be in the group that steps to the left and chooses to be blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ and not what I have done or left undone.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly trust in Jesus' name

Good thread. For me it became clear when I realised that the Old Covenant and the New Covenant are not time related.

Abraham was a new covenant believer and thus the reason Paul used Abraham to explain the new covenant.

but it did not go new covenant then old then new again. The issue was with the people as it is written:

Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Remember a covenant is made between two. So the covenant is not just what God said but also the peoples part. Those in Israel tried to do it by works and not faith. Had they done so by faith we would not even have this language of new and old covenant. It would have been considered the continence of the covenant made with Abraham.

Abraham was a new covenant believer because:

Gen_15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

So it is that Abraham leaned that it is faith and not works that save and convert the soul. Paul says:

Rom 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Rom 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

So Abraham was an example of righteousness by Faith. His faith in Gods promises made it so that God could say of Him:

Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

This is how Paul could say:

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Faith in God establishes the law in the life.

Abraham had the new covenant, God did not give a different covenant in respect to salvation to Israel. Rather Israel did not relate to God as Abraham did. They said:

Exo 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.

See they though they could do their bit. But they missed the point that He who saved them from Egypt would save them from sin also. They thought that because God saved them from Egypt they should leave sin themselves.

That is what makes it old covenant, not what God said but what they said.

Now I know I have only spoken on one aspect of this. Because most clearly the sacrificial system of types is also gone now. In respect to those things, even Abraham was old covenant as he also had to sacrifice animals etc. But as far as the heart goes, Abraham was new covenant, The Jews were old covenant as far as the heart:

Deu 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

The issue is the heart, is it trying to please God by works or does it have the faith of Abraham that saves and brings forth obedience.

Should his children forsake My Law, and refuse to walk in My judgments; Should they profane My statutes, and fail to keep My commandments; Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with lashes from the whip. Nevertheless, My loving kindness I will not utterly withdraw from him, nor will I ever betray My faithfulness. My covenant I will not break, nor will I change what that has gone out of My lips. Once for all, I have vowed by My holiness – I cannot lie, and I say to David: His Seed will endure forever, and his throne will endure before Me like the sun. His throne will be established forever like the moon: the faithful witness in the sky."

Faith carries us to change through His Spirit, which leads to a changed heart, changed man and this leads to a change in walk. But faith without anything else:

James 2:
17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

Unless the word is wrong? Again, works can not save. Only Yah can save, but faith without works, according to the word can not save. We need faith and to walk in His path.

The faith of Christ, the faith of the Holy Spirit is not without work .We are saved by His work of faith according to His labor of love .Not of our own faith that we could offer towards Him.If he began the good work of faith in us, it leads us to perfection/completion.

I think a person could ask themselves. Whose faith without works is dead? The faith of Christ that worked in the heart of Abraham. or the faith of Abraham coming from his own imagination as the work that makes the faith complete. Justified by whose works, that of Christ working in him, or Abraham working it out in respect to his own self.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.Jam 2:20

Can we have the faith generated from scripture the living abiding word in respect to Abraham as the Jews did? or in the end it would be to blaspheme the name authority of God by attributing the faith to man rather than Christ the Holy Sp[irit of God. .

Jam 2:1 My brethren, have not "the faith of" our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Jam 2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

I offer a parallel verse below that I think speaks of the same imputed faith not of our selves .That we work out your "own salivation" that we own as a free gift, and not work for, in order to gain.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.Do all things without murmurings and disputings:Phi 2:12

Faith is the key it has always been the key. Paul said:

Rom_1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

this is not new but an old reality as it is written:

Hab_2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Faith has always and will always be the key to righteousness.

Israel missed this. Faith is by the word as it says here:

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So it is that the greatest faith Jesus marvels at is seen here:

Mat 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

Faith is when one hears the word of the Lord and believes on that word to do what that word has said. God speaks and what he speaks is. we only need to examine creation to see this clearly.

Gen 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

When God said it, it was so. There is power in the word of God. This is why God can not lie. For what he speaks is even if it was not before he spoke it.

Abraham new this as it is written:

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

For this is how God created the world by things that did not appear as it is written:

Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

So though a think is not when God speaks it it becomes so. There is power in the word of God.

has God not said:

Isa_55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Gods word is not without power, creative power in the word of our God.

Is it not God who said:

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Thus to the one who believes that this new covenant promise is for all who are in Christ Jesus it is so. When one believes the word of God there is creative power that transforms.

You may say well I am human and sinful. That may be so as all have sinned. but when God speaks that which is not becomes so. You may not be righteous now but by receiving the word of the lord by faith you will be so as by the creative power in the word of God.

Why do those who claim Christ have so little faith, Christ created the worlds and he has power in his word, creative power. When he says get up and walk to a person faith makes it so and they will get up and walk.

What happened when Jesus spoke the words that the Centurion asked?

Mat 8:13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Jesus spoke and it was, take note of the leper:

Mat 8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

So why do you not believe?

There is no reason one should continue to break Gods law. That we did when we were alone without Christ. But in Christ we are a new creature.

Eph_4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Do you believe or do you think that Gods word has no power to accomplish that which God says. Where is the faith of the Centurion?

Lord just say the word and it will be.

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Christians speak much about faith yet where is the evidence of this faith? Where are the corresponding works the fruit of one who believes the words of God?

Does Gods word speak righteousness on us in Christ yet accomplish only that which the old man already had. God forbid. For as it is written:

1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

When Christ declares something to be righteous make no mistake it becomes righteous and does righteousness. Therefore do not see sin not as a command but rather a word of God to you that has with it the power to accomplish that which God pleases.

Be though clean.

The old was physical, the new is spiritual. For example, David killed his tens of thousands of God's enemies physically, but now we kill spiritually with the sword- which is the Word of God. We spiritually put to death the misdeeds of the body. Read Ephesians six.

Another example, in the old you could not murder, but in the New you are guilty of murder already just by hating your brother- even if you don't do so physically.

Another example, in the Old they had to sacrifice a physically perfect lamb, in the New the spiritually perfect Lamb of God was sacrificed once for all.

We now do spiritually what they did physically. This is why we no longer have high priests- Jesus is our high priest spiritually. We no longer set up the tabernacle, because it was only a physical replica of the spiritual layout- Christ took away the dividing curtain so that those in the holy place (church) can now enter the most holy place (heaven)- cause before, in the old covenant, only the high priest could enter the most holy place- spiritually only Christ could, but He made it so that we all can.

So just as a globe is a physical replica of the real earth, it itself is not the real thing. The old (physical) way was only a shadow of the real way to be found in Christ. Now that we are under Christ and the spiritual way, we are no longer under Moses and the physical way. (Romans 7:1-4). But both ways are God's same law- one done physically, one done spiritually.

IMO in the mindset of true Salvation, faith and obedience are one in the same. Period. If we believe, we act upon that belief. Period.

Im not exactly sure what you are trying to say, so I will use Scriptures to simplify my belief:

Hebrew 11:6, "For without the faith it is impossible to please Him; for he who comes to Yahweh must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Heb 4:2, "For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed. "

Heb 3:16-19, "For some, when they had heard, rebelled. But not all rebelled who came out of Egypt through Mosheh. But with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He vow that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."

"faith" is word #H530:

1) firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness

Brown-Driver-Briggs (Old Testament Hebrew-English Lexicon)
Feminine of H0529; literally firmness; figuratively security; moral fidelity:—faith (-ful, -ly, -ness, [man]), set office, stability, steady, truly, truth, verily.

Strong's (Hebrew & Chaldee Dictionary of the Old Testament) #530 - אֱמוּנָה
emunah (53c); from 539; firmness, steadfastness, fidelity

2 Timothy 2:21 ESV, "Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work."

Yeremyah 13:1-10, "This is what YHWH said to me: Go and buy yourself a linen belt, and put it around your waist, but do not put it in water. So I got a belt according to the word of YHWH, and put it around my waist. And the word of YHWH came to me the second time, saying: Take the belt you bought, which is around your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft in the rock. So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as YHWH commanded me. And it came to pass after many days that YHWH said to me: Arise, go to the Euphrates, and get the belt I commanded you to hide there. Then I went to the Euphrates and dug, and I took the belt from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the belt was ruined, unfit for use. Then the word of YHWH came to me, saying: This is what YHWH says; After this manner I will ruin the pride of Yahdah (Judah) and the great pride of Yerusalem. This evil people, who refuse to listen to My words, who walk in the imagination of their heart; (following their own stubborn inclinations,) and walk after the hinder gods to serve them and worship them, will be just like this belt which is unfit for use."

2 Timothy 3:15-17, "And that from a child you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation, through the faith which is in Yahshua Messiah. All Scripture is given through inspiration of YHWH is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of YHWH may become perfect, thoroughly furnished for every righteous work."

2 Timothy 2:14-26, "Remind them of this, earnestly witnessing before the Master, not to wage verbal battles – which is useless – to the overthrowing of the hearers. 15 Do your utmost to present yourself approved to Yah, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth. 16 But keep away from profane, empty babblings, for they go on to more wickedness, 17 and their word shall eat its way like gangrene. Humenaios and Philetos are of this sort, 18 who have missed the goal concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and overthrow the belief of some. 19 However, the solid foundation of Yah stands firm, having this seal, “ יהוה knows those who are His, let everyone who names the Name of Messiah turn away from unrighteous-ness. 20 But in a large house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some unto value and some unto no value. 21 If, then, anyone cleanses himself from these matters, he shall be a vessel unto value, having been set apart, of good use to the Master, having been prepared for every righteous work. 22 And flee from the lusts of youth, but pursue righteousness, belief, love, peace with those calling on the Master out of a clean heart. 23 But refuse foolish and stupid questions, knowing that they breed quarrels. 24 And a servant of the Master should not quarrel but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 in meekness instructing those who are in opposition, lest somehow Yah gives them repentance unto a thorough knowledge of the truth, 26 and they come to their senses, out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his desire."

I am reminded of this point that God hoped to teach Israel through Moses:

Deu 8:1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.
Deu 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Deu 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Gods word has great power. even more astonishing than this is the revelation of John:

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

The word is God and created all things and is the life.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the word of God anyone who believes on him will be saved. Jesus lived the truth revealed in the old testament.

Jesus did not replace the sacrifices, he always was the true sacrifice. Jesus did not replace the word, He is and always was the living word with God and was God from the beginning.

Jesus did not change the law, He is the law. To want to change the law is to want to change Jesus. To reject the law is to reject Jesus. When we reject the written word we reject the living word. For that written word is about the living word.
