so what do Christians think of this disgusting HPVirus?

Is it God's consequence to bad behavior and sexual immorality?

Here's to the younger generation

All it takes is sleeping with 1 wrong person and boom...you could be doomed for life.
Hold On to Sexual INTEGRITY even when you are tempted

Sexual immorality is running rapid...... sometimes the innocent gets hurt too.

If a person has his or heart changed by the Spirit of God through faith in the Lord Jesus, s/he will lose the desire for such activity outside marriage.

They have a vaccine for HPV and the CDC recommends all boys and girls aged 11 or 12 receive the vaccination.

"Who should get vaccinated?
All boys and girls ages 11 or 12 years should get vaccinated.

Catch-up vaccines are recommended for males through age 21 and for females through age 26, if they did not get vaccinated when they were younger.

The vaccine is also recommended for gay and bisexual men (or any man who has sex with a man) through age 26. It is also recommended for men and women with compromised immune systems (including people living with HIV/AIDS) through age 26, if they did not get fully vaccinated when they were younger."

Some parents would find this controversial for it to be assumed that their children are likely to engage in this activity and should therefore receive this vaccine as a matter of course.
 
I'm all about liberty. For sure, it should be 100% voluntary period forever! I agree with you.

They tried to force my daughter to have this in grade 5. Instead, we had a good talk about STD's and how you don't get them if you stay a virgin till you are married, and you marry a man who is also a virgin.

She did that, and therefore does not have to endure the side effects of this vaccine.

It can cause death, and also can INCREASE the risk of cancer.

I remember getting my shots, my parents are all for vaccines. I was sooo proud to be "one less". My body has since then been purified by the Lord, thankfully.

Std's are a result of betraying our spouse, our body, and most importantly, the Lord.

When I was 19 I came up with how gonorrhea named, it was named after Gomorrah, a city known for it's sexual immortality
 
The vaccine Won't Stop God from showing us sexual immorality is wrong. We (mere man) think we can out smart God with a shot??? Come on people.
 
Kim, HPV is just what you said..disgusting. That said, I believe it is a consequence of one person's ignorant behavior in how they approach the way they have sex. So many people today are so eager to just hop in bed, without any protection, and then boom! They have an STD. If people would wake up and realize they need to protect not only themselves, but their partner(s). Make him wear a condom (or even two lol)!! Make her use birth control!! Be proactive! BE RESPONSIBLE!! Make sure the one you have sex with isnt cheating on you with other people. If they are, get yourself tested. Have them get tested. There is NO CURE for HPV, or AIDS or syphilis--only treatment..Left untreated, these diseases CAN AND WILL KILL YOU!! So all you girls and boys out there reading this, BE SMART!! Ask your partner to get tested for any diseases first BEFORE you engage in sexual relations. If they refuse, that may tell you they have something to hide. Some people think that you cannot get an STD if it is only oral sex. WRONG!! Yes you can!! Any contact with bodily fluids, semen, spit, blood, etc can introduce the disease into your body. So if you suspect your partner is cheating, get tested!!
and it is "running RAMPANT"..not running rapid lol :p

I'm conflicted about it. Rape is a possibility. So is children growing up and marrying a non-virgin. But is it worth a whole vaccination over that? How do the chances of coming down with the real thing from a vaccination compare to the chances of getting raped by someone with HPV?

You can't get the real thing from the vaccine - that's not how vaccines work. You can however, cause any number of other side effects that may be permanent.

The HPV vaccine isn't always even successful in protecting against cancer. I'm usually all for vaccination, but the HPV vaccine carries with it some significant risks - there have been a number of documented adverse reactions which have ranged from moderate to severe to life changing.

Given that it's for an avoidable condition, the vaccine is a tough sell in my book - but I guess it comes down to how much one would actually trust that their kids would listen to the words of warning they have been issued. I feel differently about the Heb B vaccine - it's not nearly as dangerous and hepatitis is quite virulent (although again, I feel that it's given too early to children during a standard vaccination schedule given the fact that most parents don't have Hep B and the risk for exposure isn't there until adulthood).

Vaccines can carry with them their own set of risks - this is why we no longer vaccinate against smallpox. The potential for complications outweighs the medical benefit of vaccinating for a virus that has been eradicated.


On the whole though, vaccination can and does save lives.

God isn't punishing a group of people specifically with a disease.

sin always has inherent consequence, even if the one who pays the highest price isn't the one who committed said sin.
 
I am in favor of any well-tested and effective vaccine, even for sexually transmitted disease because one need not engage in a voluntary activity to get one.

A disease, not a vaccine. Though I suppose vaccines can be forced on people. I've seen enough mad scientist movies.
 
Half of the people with HPV that I know were virgins who married virgins. But then their spouse cheated on them and brought the virus home. Another was from an assault. It's not enough for you to remain chaste, but for others around you to do so as well. I'm seriously considering the HPV vaccine for my son and any future children for that reason.

I don't think that diseases are punishments—especially not condemnations—though they certainly are likely consequences. They are incredibly common, more so than you think. In fact, the US has 6 times as many new cases of STIs every year than pregnancies according to a couple of CDC studies that I read.

Ever had a cold sore? Then you have an STI, specifically the herpes virus, likely type 1. Even if you don't currently have an outbreak, you can still be contagious; and there is no cure. The scary part is that the vast majority people who have certain STIs don't even know they are infected. Educate yourself on what is out there, how you get it, and how you can prevent it. Protect yourself by vaccinations, abstaining from behavior that puts you at risk, and getting screened if there is even the most remote chance that you could have an STI. Talk to your future spouse and make sure they get screened, too, because some STIs can be transmitted in other ways.

Finally, if you are infected, it's okay. If it is the result of sin, there is complete forgiveness in Christ. Get treatment for what you have, and understand what changes may need to be made. Overwhelmingly, many of those infected go on to live full, meaningful lives with just a few minor accommodations.

Presidente, HPV usually only afflicts girls and women. I would not take the vaccines, because most, if not ALL, vaccines are MADE of the very thing they are created to prevent!! The cause is also the cure, which doesnt make any sense. Vaccines also quite commonly make people get sick. :(
