I bought my husband an ESV Dramatized Audio Bible Player because he's lost enough dexterity in his hands that he can't turn pages. Yes, I did see the buttons, but he can push the buttons on his TV remote. (Very simply TV remote.) I hoped he could push two or three buttons to get where he wanted to go. (Knowing him, he'd want to go to Romans first.)
So, it arrived yesterday, I read the manual and discovered it wasn't two or three buttons. It was SIX. And that's after turning on the very tiny off/on button, pressing a start button and turning the page in the booklet that tells which six buttons he needs to push to get where he wants to go. Oh well. It isn't going to work, so I told Amazon I would be returning it.
I got this e-mail from the CEO of the company.
I answered
Anyone, but me, catching why that is funny?
(Thank you, Miss Corcoran, for teaching me how to count to ten in first grade.)

Dear Lynn,
We are sorry to learn that our product doesn’t work for your husband and we will refund you. But before you return the product to Amazon, can you try one more thing:
Our product has two different navigation systems to go to different books/chapters. Since the 6-digit numerical system doesn’t work for your husband, can you try the right column of buttons? You only need to press one button each time to go to a different book or different chapter, which is much simpler. Please refer to method1 in manual page 1. This method should be much easier than the other method.
If this still doesn’t work, please return this product to Amazon and we would fully refund.
Again, we apologize that our product couldn’t serve your husband’s special need. We pray that God will guide you to find another one that is more suitable for him.
Sincerely,
GT Liu, CEO

Their response:The first book he would want to listen to (and the whole book) is Romans. How would pushing the right hand buttons make that less work?
Dear Lynn,
If he is now in Old Testament, here is what he could do to go to Romans
1. Push No. 5 to go to new testament Matthew chapter 1,
2. Push No. 6 to go to Mark chapter 1
3. Push No. 6 again to go to Luke chapter 1
4. Push No. 6 again to go to John chapter 1
5. Push No.6 again to go to Acts chapter 1
6. Push No.6 again to go to Romans chapter1.
The player will play chapter by chapter without stopping unless you take other actions. If he wants to jump to different chapters to Romans, he can push No. 10.
I hope that this is simple enough for him to do. If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Thanks and God bless you!
