Miracles do occur! My husband called me on Wednesday night of last week. His demeanor was very different than it has been for several months. He was sad, but calm; and he asked me to come and see him. By the grace of God, I had Friday off; so I went to see him.
On Friday afternoon my father-in-law drove me about 1-1 1/2 hours away into the inner city into a very rough part of town. We ended at a psychiatric hospital with a high fence surrounding it and a front lawn covered in stone statues. If you haven't followed my story at all, I haven't spoken to my husband (except one angry and short convo) in two months. He has had his family sworn to secrecy as to his whereabouts, so I've been in the dark as to anything regarding him. I went up to the 3rd floor and he met me in the meeting room. He allowed me to hug him, and much to my surprise, he hugged me back. There were two hours of visitation that went by incredibly quickly. We didn't talk about much, but eventually he allowed me to sit next to him as he wept and expressed what he's been thinking these past two months. He is very nervous about taking medication, but is willing and understands that they are necessary. They have him on some heavy ones too. The cocktail is not finished yet. He feels like he may be there forever, like he's completely lost his mind. I believe in a God big enough to fix that. He told me he prays and reads the bible everyday, but he does not hear God's voice. He asked for his ring back also.
He's lost a lot of weight. He was clean shaven. His hair was cut. He was completely different physically, and it was good to see. Though he feels very hopeless right now. He wants to be what I deserve, but I want him to first to be for himself what HE deserves to be.

My work schedule leaves me unable to see him much because he is so far away. Other than the obvious, please pray for my meeting with the hospital admin. My husband is a musician, and he thrives on music. I would like to bring a drum (dumbek) for him to play during their music time. Also, Please pray that my schedule would lighten up so that I can see him more than once a week or once every two weeks. Lastly, please pray that I would be able to hold my boundaries with him. I am a caretaker at heart. I thrive off of taking care of people until I kill myself doing it. I have yet to find the balance.

Ryan will be in the hospital a minimum of 6 more months. Once out they have a special program for him that will pay for his housing, help him through school, and help him find and get a job. That's a really long time to be without my husband, or for him to be without me; and neither of us are looking forward to this difficult but necessary season.

Hi Jordache - Hope you're well & my thoughts & prayers are with you tonight - I'm sure that things will work out in the right way for you.
Part of my work role requires visits to NHS Trusts & facilities in them - So I go to psych hospital & secure units. I find that there are only 2 things which scare folk; the unknown & fear itself. And you tend to look back @ times thinking; "What was I scared of"?
BW to both; J.

Thank you for the update! I will be praying for you both! One of prayers will be for your husband to feel God's presence and perfect Love!
God bless you Jordache! Keep us posted...So we know how to pray.
