I can’t do it… I have very little strength in me due to health problems the only way I would be able to follow the bible is if God did it for me but he hasn’t. I have sins in my life that I have no strength left in me to deal with. I’m just floating along

You are listening to Satan's lies. Start confessing the truth that is in God's word for you. For example, God's grace is sufficient for me. Declare that you are a new creation in Christ Jesus. Declare that God has given you the victory over sin. Declare that Jesus lives in you to be all that God requires you to be.

Christians struggle when they look at themselves outside of Christ. Remember, and declare out loud, that you died and your life is hidden in Christ with God.

Remember that God only requires that you confess your sin. He forgives and forgets. Read Romans 8. Declare that God is working all things together for your good.

God's word is the Sword of the Spirit. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He quoted God's word to Satan. Satan attacked 3 times and Jesus used only the Word to defeat Satan. Now we may be attacked a number of times. When Satan gets his claws into someone, he does not like to let go. Don't let up.

I'm 75 and I've been saved 54 years. I still have to declare God's word in order to stay stable in Christ. I like to declare Galatians 2:20. My spirit begins to lift as I speak it out. God does not have favourites. If His word works for me, it will work for you.

If you believe on the Name of Jesus Christ for salvation, and confess that He has saved you with your mouth, you are saved.
John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Isaiah 40:1 “Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God. 2 “Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.”

Isaiah 41
1 “Keep silent before me, islands,
and let the peoples renew their strength.
Let them come near,
then let them speak.
Let’s meet together for judgment.
2 Who has raised up one from the east?
Who called him to his feet in righteousness?
He hands over nations to him
and makes him rule over kings.
He gives them like the dust to his sword,
like the driven stubble to his bow.
3 He pursues them
and passes by safely,
even by a way that he had not gone with his feet.
4 Who has worked and done it,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the LORD, the first, and with the last, I am he.”

5 The islands have seen, and fear.
The ends of the earth tremble.
They approach, and come.
6 Everyone helps his neighbor.
They say to their brothers, “Be strong!”
7 So the carpenter encourages the goldsmith.
He who smooths with the hammer encourages him who strikes the anvil,
saying of the soldering, “It is good;”
and he fastens it with nails, that it might not totter.

8 “But you, Israel, my servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
the offspring of Abraham my friend,
9 you whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth,
and called from its corners,
and said to you, ‘You are my servant. I have chosen you and have not cast you away.’
10 Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you.
Yes, I will help you.
Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Behold, all those who are incensed against you will be disappointed and confounded.
Those who strive with you will be like nothing, and shall perish.
12 You will seek them, and won’t find them,
even those who contend with you.
Those who war against you will be as nothing,
as a nonexistent thing.
13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand,
saying to you, ‘Don’t be afraid.
I will help you.’
14 Don’t be afraid, you worm Jacob,
and you men of Israel.
I will help you,” says the LORD.
“Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
15 Behold, I have made you into a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth.
You will thresh the mountains,
and beat them small,
and will make the hills like chaff.
16 You will winnow them,
and the wind will carry them away,
and the whirlwind will scatter them.
You will rejoice in the LORD.
You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.

17 The poor and needy seek water, and there is none.
Their tongue fails for thirst.
I, the LORD, will answer them.
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers on the bare heights,
and springs in the middle of the valleys.
I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
and the dry land springs of water.
19 I will put cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oil trees in the wilderness.
I will set cypress trees, pine, and box trees together in the desert;
20 that they may see, know, consider, and understand together,
that the LORD’s hand has done this,
and the Holy One of Israel has created it.

We are changed from glory to glory as we spend time in the presence of God. This is something we all can do. Cultivate a relationship with God by spending time in His word and prayer. As you do this, you will find that God is both near and a very present help to you. You will find that your burdens become His, and you will find peace and rest in this. We were never meant to carry so many burdens, but are invited to give our cares to Him...1 Peter 5:7. Allow God to help.

Will be praying for you.

Good, you're right where you need to be.

The Lord Jesus Christ has dealt with the sin issue, its under the blood, and so are you, if you have put your faith in Him.

You are saved by grace through faith, it is a gift, given in different measures to different people, to the glory of Christ, and according to the purposes of the Father.

Repentance is also a gift, a precious gift. Use it to repent first of all your doubt and unbelief in the complete and total sufficiency of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Cast your cares upon Him, for He careth for you."

This most certainly includes your temptations. God is mindful of your frame, be mindful of His goodness, His patience, His grace and mercy, and His unending love for all of those who call upon His name, and place their hope upon His Son.

Be encouraged.

I've been at the end of my rope many times and prayed and told the Lord the only way I can do what He expects is with His help. If you have faith, and ask Him, He will help you; but you still have to make an effort. Just move your feet and follow His lead. God bless.

U r on the young Christians forum so I'm guessing u r under 25 ? How many sins can u have committed at your age ? I'm 58 , imagine the load I carry around . It's no coincidence that when those men bring the woman caught in adultery to Jesus and , he tells them to cast the first stone if they r without sin , that the eldest walk away from her first . I hate to tell u this but even the most devout and determined of us never stop sining . That's no excuse I'm afraid .
U don't have to ' deal with your sins ' other than recognising , acknowledging and repenting of them , then u r as white as snow and u can move forward . It really is as simple as that . Open your heart and u will b welcomed . Physically I'm not up to much either , without painkillers and crutches I couldn't leave my home but , God puts a smile on my face every day and , I try to share it with as many as I can 😁 . He and only He , strengthens me , calms me , cheers me up , and keeps me sane and mobile . He will do the same and more for u if u let Him .

One's salvation is not based on ones ability to live up to the standards contained within the Holy Bible without failure...

Ones salvation is founded on one being forgiven ones failures in living up to the standards contained within the Holy Bible...

If one believes Jesus and trusts in the Atonement He secured on the cross pays the penalty for their transgressions.. Then that person shall be forgiven all their sins and will be gifted entry into Gods perfect eternal existence..

So many people carry the burden of works salvation mindset.. A burden that has never saved anyone..

Do not isolate. If you cannot make it to a church, find a group of believers online and join their bible study.
I live in North Africa and been isolating to where I even left the faith because of the accumulation of problems of my own doing, such as drunkenness.
I joined a house church and also a bible study with just two other brothers and God started doing miracles in my life.
I am recovering from a fourth floor window fall, imagine that. If you want more details you can always contact me directly. we can talk

Walking as Jesus walked isn't something we can do in our own strength. None of us can follow God without validating and honouring our spiritual dependency on Him.

Can't do it, is a capability block. You've confessed that it's practically impossible for you to emulate holiness without external help. Jesus said "apart from me you can do nothing" to emphasize how lasting spiritual impact cannot be achieved with human effort.

If you're leaning on the Lord for reliance, and still ain't seeing spiritual renewal in your life, then you need to consider that you might be hindered by one of two layers of resistance.

1. Don't want to, choosing not to, because walking in the Spirit doesn't align with your own plans or interests.

2. Won't do it, stubbornness, because spiritual renewal requires making compromises which you don't want to make.

In any event, now is the day of salvation, and your life is in the hands of a redemptive and merciful Spirit. Love covers a multitude of sins, so oppose your own sin with intentional love for others.

As has been said, don't isolate, live selflessly and serve others without seeking recognition. Practice love, and sin will find it harder to retain a foothold in your life.

Romans 10:17 says that FAITH comes by hearing the word of God. If you are spiritually weak, the only way to become stronger is to spend time in the Bible. The more you read and study the Bible, the more you WANT to ready and study. You can get “built up” on the word of God.

Reading the Bible can be hard to understand for someone who is unfamiliar with it. I would suggest beginning with the “stories” of the Bible. The Old Testament talks about the “mighty works of God.” The stories that show his “mighty works” are wonderful, exciting and really help build your faith in Him. Suggestions:
The creation story, Genesis 1-2
The story of the flood, Genesis 6-8
The The story of the plagues in Egypt
And the Exodus from Egypt,
Exodus 7-12
The giving of the 10 commandments
Exodus, 19-20
The conquest of Jericho, Joshua 6
And many, many more wonderful stories about God’s mighty power, mercy, compassion and love. The Old Testament books of history—the Kings and Chronicles have amazing stories about God’s prophets, Elijah and Elisha, good kings and bad kings, a queen who killed all of her grandchildren ( except one), ditches of blood, battles and victories. These are true stories told by the Holy Spirit. You cannot help but be encouraged and strengthened by the knowledge you will gain from This amazing revelation from God.

Then go to the New Testament and get acquainted with Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.
His story is told in the first 4 books—Matthew, Mark, Luke. And John. John specifically says that his book was written “that you might believe.” We all need more faith; and God tells us how to get it—read your Bible. Romans 10:17.
