I have a question for atheists, why are so many of you guys animators? :D

The people behind The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park (I don't recall their names off the top of my head) Are all atheists, as far as I know. What's up with that?

Good question. The one I have kind of goes hand-in-hand with this one. Why are so many involved in the media secularists/atheists?

Alan Moore's religious views are worth a google search. I guess somebody has to worship Glycon in the 21st century.
 
I love Watchmen, but you're right. Alan Moore is an 'interesting' man with equally interesting beliefs.

When you were a child and someone told you that the tooth fairy comes and takes your teeth and leaves money under your pillow, you would believe them given your current knowledge and psychological development. The mind of the child simply accepted the truth of it, there was no actual choice involved.

If you were told that 2+2 = 5, would you believe it? Could you convince yourself to believe it was true?
Again no choice is being made, your mind is simply rejecting the truth of the statement based on knowledge of math and counting principles. Now lets say this person provided some convincing proof that 2+2=5, if the new knowledge provided was reasonable enough to your mind then your belief about the truth value would change but no choice is being made.

So again when I said that "belief is not a choice" I am talking about theism in general. For almost all religions are premised on the belief in a supernatural deity. If your mind holds the belief or truth value of "God" then you are susceptible to believing other more specific things about "God". The choice of choosing Jesus is a direct result of your mind first believing the truth of the bible and then acting based on that knowledge.

I hope that makes my position more clear and you see I am not challenging your free-will at all.
It is important for people to realize that our choices are a direct result of our beliefs, and our beliefs are based on our knowledge of reality and how we perceive that knowledge.

Knowledge is only part of the equation. Two people receiving the same knowledge... will not have the same beliefs. One may emphasis some things that other won't. Perhaps one might choose to not take some knowledge to heart. How about those atheists that claim to have come from Christian homes? I'm sorry, I doubt knowledge is enough to predict what an individual would believe.

Yes that is very true, and I agree "knowledge" cant necessarily predict "belief". This is because every individual is different.
I think you generalized my argument too much, I am speaking of why an "individual" believes something.
Then given that belief, for them to change what they believe, new information would be needed. One can't simply arbitrarily decide to change their belief.

I only generalized it to two people. I'm also speaking about individuals. And I'm trying to get at a few points...

1. Christians can come from an athiest families...
2. Atheists can come from christian families...

Also... beliefs can be made off other beliefs...

Superstitious beliefs are great examples that evidently go against what your saying too...

And correlations... who people may believe in.

The examples above may not include knowledge, your definition of knowledge or the traditional philosophical definition of knowledge. You say that beliefs come from knowledge. I'm telling you its very obvious according to the points above. Beliefs MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT come from knowledge but... knowledge isn't necessary to have beliefs. I also think its extremely easy to argue that we live our lives mostly based off reasonable beliefs we faithfully make based off clues and what seems like evidence... not knowledge.
 
You're swimming in "new" information. I know this because I have been providing it to you in the form of scholarly information and empirical evidence that refutes atheism, refutes assertions made by atheists, and provides positive evidence and argumentation for the existence of God and why Christianity is the correct worldview.

Faced with a large body of empirical evidence for something that is substantiated by a large body of experiential eye witness correlation: at what point does your rejection of irrefutable knowledge become willful disbelief?

Stan Lee is an atheist!? My childhood has been wounded.
I'll never look at marvel the same again. Then again disney owns marvel now so all is not lost!
 
Hope this doesn't sound mean but why are you getting on a CHRISTIAN website, for CHRISTIANS to help one another. This Is mean for help for people who want to do the same things.
