I am ready to turn my life over to the Lord. I am 41 and have had enough. So i figured i would finally take the journey.
Ok. Advice. Please listen. Read your Bible as much as possible. Get know Jesus through this. He calls himself the word. In the book of John in the beggining it says in the beginning was the word. It's very important. Pray always. We have to get to know Him. Don't be just a reader do what it says the best you can. It takes practice. Join a local church and if the church does not preach what your Bible says find one. Read the first four books of the new testament. Some say start in John. Lots of Christians favor this one. It's refferd to as the love chapter. When you pray ask in Jesus name. The powerful prayer is just His will carried out through you and pray the word to him. Bible says his word won't return to him void. If your only praying for what you want don't be upset. Jesus said our heavenly father knows what we need so don't worry. Make as many Christian friends as possible and we don't always all get along but be forgiving. Paul talks about in the New testament Romans through Jude a lot about how we should live those are all the writings about what Paul wrote about through those chapters in the Bible instructions to live. If you want to Psalms and Proverbs are really good also I suggest a one year Bible so you can read Old testament psalms Proverbs in the New testament too. If you really wanted more detail five this role model for Christian I suggest" the purpose driven Life". Sorry I forgot who the Arthur that book was. Do all you can to repent of your sin. If you receive the Lord ask it in the way the Bible directs us to confess with your tongue and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and you shall be saved. After this prayer get baptized as soon as you can. Whatever you do don't give up. Jesus says if you abide in me all about in you. When you do sin and you know it don't be afraid or ashamed to keep praying or talking to Jesus just like he's there. I think that's the biggest problem with most Christians when we sin we feel guilt and I kind of messes up our relationship momentarily but don't drown yourself in it get up and keep moving. Welcome to the family of God if you ever confessed with your time and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord. The first year or two will be your hardest. It's a totally different way of life but if you stick with it you will reap good things you'll see God more for who he is. What I mean by real good things is you will change. I'll be praying for you. I suggest if you're reading the Bible and you don't understand it download the app Bible hub they got commentaries on there from theologians that make it clear with the scriptures saying it's a very good app I wish I would have found it I wish they would have had smartphones when I first got saved because it would have saved me a lot of stress and a lot of misunderstanding of what the word was actually saying. Take care and God bless

2 Timothy 4:7-8
New International Version
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Psalm 119:105-112
New International Version
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it,
that I will follow your righteous laws.
107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.
108 Accept, Lord, the willing praise of my mouth,
and teach me your laws.
109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands,
I will not forget your law.
110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
111 Your statutes are my heritage forever;
they are the joy of my heart.
112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees
to the very end.

Revelation 5
New International Version
The Scroll and the Lamb
5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”

11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
