Hey there! i need an advise here! i am 23years old. God called my parents to establish a church school when i was in middle school. i wanted to become a doctor but my parents wanted me to be a teacher for two reasons. first because we cant afford medicine school and second they want me to run the school. Since ephesians 6.1 said children obey your parents, i forget my dream and obeyed them. now, i am helping them with the school, but i am not happy. i dont know myself anymore. i dont know what i want for my life. i feel i am stuck and lost. i dont want to be a teacher, but i dont know what else to do. i am completely lost and broken! It seems i stop living. i am like a zombie.

I think you need to talk to your parents about how you are feeling. I don't know the type of people your parents are, but most would not want you to spend a life being unhappy. It is great that you have spent this time being respectful of your parents' wishes, however they are not the ones who determine the call on your life. Offer to help them find someone else who could help with the school in your place to ease any burden on them. Reassure them that this is not a reflection of them, but that you feel God wants you elsewhere.

As a parent, I would definitely want my daughter to tell me if she wanted something different for herself. I really think you should let your parents know that you have other dreams you want to pursue. We all have our own calling. It isn't wrong for your calling to be different from your parents. Once they see that you are serious about pursuing your own choices, hopefully they will get on board and support you.

I know it's hard but it will be worth it, and while they want you to help them, they will want you to be happy much more so.
