It is relatively seldom that I "receive reputation" -- and, I just wanted to explain to those who have given it why I am not 'vocal' about it.
There certainly isn't anything wrong with thanking someone for giving it - but, in a way - to me - it is kind-of-like bragging if you thank someone for it openly - in a post, for example. If I do / did thank someone for it, it would probably be in the form of a PM.
I am not judging anyone else for how they handle it. I don't really think less of anyone who I see thank someone for 'rep'; it is just not "my way" of doing things.
I would say that it is the little messages that accompany the 'rep' which encourage me that mean the most.
So -- I just wanted you to understand that - if you give me 'rep' - and, you don't see a "thank you" for it in my next post -- don't think that I don't appreciate it - I do. I just consider it to be one of those things that should be appreciated 'privately'.
On a lighter side...
Always keep in mind that -- if you 'rep' me now - and I 'rep' you later -- you will get more 'rep' points...
