I don't think I have read that as a Christian you have to marry a Christian. I think Paul said that the faith of 1 in the family santifies it. The bible says it's worse to see the light and continue in darkness than those who never knew the light so I'll go with that as long as they respect my faith.

I'll go for a good non-christian, because if he is good, then, most probably, through prayers, I could persuade him to turn to Jesus... :)
 
I gave this some thought and I here is what I got.
If they are a non Christian then dating is not an option. (cased closed on that one)
If they are a bad Christian then 1. what does that mean??
2. If they say they are a good Christian then that almost says they are arrogant.
3. If they admit they are not a good Christian and they stumble and fall then they are humble enough to recognize their weaknesses.
4. How can I expect someone better than myself? As the leader of the relationship I have to be spiritually mature to lead the relationship according to Gods will. Yet if I say I am better than them then they are actually better than me.
This is the difficulty when two very imperfect people lives come together and praise the Lord he grants us Grace and we need to have the same for the other.

I think we're using the term 'bad Christian' for someone who claims to be a Christian, goes to church, does all the Christian things etc, but is otherwise a jerk - judgemental, not loving of others, impatient, etc, etc...

That's how I interpret that anyway.

As for admitting they stumble and all that - there's a difference between trying and failing, and not trying and calling it stumbling. A lot of people I've met in the church make no attempt to live a godly life and when someone calls them out on it, they pull the "I'm not perfect / Christians stumble / etc" excuse.

Chopsui can correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I interpretted the question.
 
I think many are missing the point here. There's a swedish "game" called Plauge of Cholera. Which is where you have to choose between two alternatives both are obviously bad, it's about picking the lesser of evils. The third option doesn't exist as it's a hypothetical issue.

I think generally men have a hard time to understand the "bad christian" alternative becuase we can't really understand the horrors that women are put through in many marriages christian and secular alike. The beatings, the drinking, the abuse and the degradation.

This being said. I'd go for the Good non-christian anyday. Better a loving person that haven't met Jesus than a person that has met Jesus and behaves like a devil.
 
Depends. I'm assuming "good" and "bad" are based on my own interpretation. Assuming that, I'd opt for the good non-Christian.

That's hypothetically, to "play the game" so to speak. In reality, I'd date neither, but could see myself befriending both.

The problem with your game is I would stay single rather than pick on of the two.
