Why... oh WHY....

Are there so many fake people on here!?!?

It's like they bypass the beginning of this site and fake themselves to be "real" people and naturally I get stuck being a victim of circumstance.

Meaning, they message me.. (randomly) and say "hi, I'm so-and-so, nice to meet you..." and blah, blah, blah.. and I fall for it every time! And become "friends" with them.. then either that day...or a few days later or weeks later; they are fake!

What is it? I don't understand why this happens all the time now when it rarely did. It's frustrating and my pregnancy hormones can't take it half the time.

Anyways, don't mind the rant... I'm just curious as to what has been going on.

Oh........... you mean just ordinary human nature?

That and lying about who they are..

The people I'm referring too, are literally brand new... and msssage me out of nowhere and wanna talk, but they aren't who they say they are..

It's like wasting my time and effort to get to know a person.

It's a perpetual full moon in here, babe... Beware the trolls, zombies and werewolves..

Is this the same criteria by which you develop friendships IRL?

At least IRL, she can see whether someone is REALLY a man, or REALLY a woman, or whether they're exactly as physically described online..
All the more reason NOT to be leaping to make friends of strangers online. God gave us a brain for a reason.

I don't think LB is "leaping" to make friends online.. But she DOES have a reasonable expectation that when someone says their name is Willie, and that they're a man, that what they say is true.. LOL

Well, my name really is not "Willie", and I certainly do not consider myself to be the "typical" male I see around me everyday, But, does that make me "fake?"

There are many things I think, imagine, dream of, and even say and do, that do not get posted here. (Just like everyone else posting here.) But, can you really say that makes us "fake?"

Oh that! Choose friends better. The first thing I do is check out who they are. If they have nothing but the PM to me, I don't buy it. (I also assume they've done the same thing to a dozen other people.)

I do give them a few days to see if they post anything anywhere sometimes, but generally speaking strangers don't come up to people to talk about personal things or to ask for something for their poor orphanage in Africa. And if the request comes complete with an avatar of a man, (it is usually supposedly a man), in front of an orphanage, I'm more inclined to report the request than to accept the offer of friendship.

Friendship means we have something in common. If someone comes to me out of the blue, that's not "in common." That's codswallop.

I suggest responding to people who are completely new via public forums only, no PMs.

True...

Sigh.... maybe if I'm rude and mean they might leave me alone?
Actually, no it won't. That would require time for them to get that, but they're here to whatever they want, and then they'll leave.

I simply ignore them or report them.

And, yes, sad to say, it is very much about having an avatar with a women's face on it. Somehow another idiots think women are more gullible.

Could ya send me a little something to help out with my pet shelter?
