Just coming out of a marriage so not ready for dating yet...but is there really such a man out there who is FAITHFUL to his wife, affectionate towards her, outgoing, caring, compassionate, honest, fun and intelligent? I am really afraid I won't find what I'll be looking for...I need this person to be a Christian like myself as well. And I have two kids from this marriage. For all you guys, if you were searching for a good woman, would the fact that she has kids make her less appealing? I completely understand that God will send the right person to me, but I'm still afraid I will never find someone like this who's willing to be with someone who already has kids. Any thoughts?

I already got married though, be patient, you will find someone out there, there are others like this.

You want the truth? The truth is that it completely depends on the person. But I'm going to condition that somewhat.

For most single men with children, blending the families will make sense to them.

For many single men without kids, like myself, it's not something we want to get involved in. However, some single guys without kids feel differently.

So while it really does depend on the person, my view is that a man with a child or children will be better conditioned to you having children of your own.

Would the fact that she has kids make her less appealing?

AgeofKnowledge is right. I personally would not want to be with a girl with kids simply for the fact that I'm not financially ready to raise kids, so I wouldn't want to do that to someone else's kids. If I was older and more financially stable, I would consider dating someone with kids. I think the man you're looking for will be someone who already has kids.

The kids thing depends on how many and how old...for the rest of it it doesnt seem that hard. I mean but dont forget not only do guys need to meet your standards, but you need to meet theirs as well. I love all these threads sa what people want or are looking for, but the refuse to list what the offer.

the man you describe is my husband...he is already taken but I wish you all of God's blessings in finding a good, Christian man..this is my second marriage and God has richly blessed us

The right man will love you and your kids. If not-he can 'take a hike'...

kids are awesome, if you find someone who loves kids and you at the same time, things will work out, the financial stuff will work itself out , the most important thing is being able to form a relationship to the kids, it takes a real man to step up and be a good daddy to kids that arent even his, but the rewards are great

Those two statements are in complete contradiction to each other. One says i trust God to send me the right person. The next one says i'm afraid i won't. So if you're sure God would send you the right person then how can you be afraid you won't find the right person?

Also, its rough asking blanket statements about people. Like if men will not want a woman with kids. Some will not mind, some will mind. But seriously, if you think about it, people with kids remarry all the time.
Personally, i would rather not. But not because i dislike kids or anything, i have certain circumstances in my life that have effected how i feel about having kids at all. Before these circumstances i would not have minded, and in fact dated a woman with 3 children.

I would consider worrying less about if you can find a man that doesn't mind, or likes that you have kids and make sure to be cautious about any men you might consider. So many single parents, especially women, tend to rush to find a spouse and stand in father, that they don't take enough time to get to know a man. They so feel their children need a man in the home, and maybe happy that they found a guy who accepts her with her kids, that they just assume this is 'the guy'. Next thing you know this guy is yelling at or insulting your kid, or molesting or any number of abuses.
So when you are ready to start dating again, don't rush it, don't be desperate, but take your time, use wisdom, and let a guy prove himself to you and your child.

you must enjoy life with your kids, I bet you are a happy family, there are some man out there who would like to take part of your happiness, God loves us all and He understands us like no man or woman will ever understand. Be happy and you'll bring more happiness in your life

Just continuing seeking the Lord...and asking for wisdom on how to raise your kids up in the Truth. You have been given such a wonderful responsibility, so I pray that you fully rely on the Father for His ability.

Fear and faith cannot coexist. You must choose one or the other.

No children of a broken marriage are responsible for the situation. Children deserve the greatest of love and nurturing and tender care. I believe that the man who falls in love with you souild fall in love with your children as well as you. You're a family and the only successful future marriage would require any man you marry to love the entire famnily. Nothing else will work. And YES, there are men out there who can and will love you all as a family. Watch his behavior toward the children early on and watch it carefully. If it's anything but loving and caring at all times, you know he's not the man.

Well I think I can do all those... except I'd be weak in the outgoing and fun part... Faithful would be my strongest point.. and affectionate, caring, compassionate, honest and intelligent I can do too.

Two kids... well me personally, I guess it's possible that I can accept them but it's tough because I'd practically be adopting a whole family... its like idk, I wanted my personal own family and ya gotta understand, its tough because.. well those two kids.. are not my kids. That's how I feel about that, honest answer.

Don't give up hope, I know I'd possibly be.. able to accept that, mostly because I'm fond about adopting kids and I feel like I can do it... and I feel for women in that situation ya know. I think there are guys out there for you still.

I also think it'd be a good idea to get good male role models for your two kids... Christian family members maybe? For their sake.

Your prety, don't worry, someone will come along an fall in love with you and your kids. I knew one man married a woman with 8 kids, another man married a woman with 4......two kids, should be no problem.
