I don't understand this verse:
For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 2 Thessalonians 2:11
Because isnt a powerful delusion the same as a lie?
And God can't lie. Can someone explain this verse to me?

A test is not a lie (mistranslation). Without faith it's impossible to please God- so God tests our faith. Who are you going to believe, God or man? The Bible says "Let every man be a liar and God be right."

What does man say? Man says dinosaurs lived billions of years before humans. What does God say? God says He created all in six days- and man and animal on the same day. So who are you going to believe- God or man?

That's easy- you believe God. But God wants to test our faith even further. So He put a strong delusion in the earth. I believe they are dinosaur bones. A test is not a test if there is no obstacle to overcome.

I don't care what you see, what fine-sounding arguments you hear, NEVER call God a liar! NEVER allow anything to violate your faith.

She didn't understand a verse that's all, there is nothing wrong with asking a question.

*** God does not send it, but allows it because of there choices and disobedience--- example --- God hardened Pharaoh's heart because he kept choosing evil--- but God did not do it---- Pharoah's choices brought it about--- God kept dealing with him about Moses and he kept doing him evil--- the same sun melts the wax and hardens the clay--- we must guard our hearts and be true to God or we can be deceived...

He is saying after all I have done, after all I have said, after all my teachings, if you still want to believe the lies of Satan Ill help you to believe them. We have a jealous God. He tells us so. If you want to follow Satan after all I have done have a good trip.
God is not going to beg us to love him.

There is also the example of Saul before he became Paul. Educated in all things concerning scripture. He hunted down Christians and would have Christ himself had he had the chance. He and his generation had all the information God could provide yet they still could not see God standing before them. Not all things are know to us, there are things God has not revealed.

God sends a strong delusion, So that they will believe the lie (of the antichrist or man of sin)

its really no different than what he did for Israel when Christ came, Christ was the stumbling stone, the delusion was that he would always come to free them from oppression and set up his kingdom. That's why every time he said he had to die, even his disciples would say no, that was not his purpose. SO it was a delusion to help them believe the lie of satan.

We do not know what it will be, it may be a belief system already around and popular today. That God uses as a stumbling stone to delude the poeple who reject him and empower them to believe the lie.

As the scriptures mentions God controls everything & restrains evil otherwise there would be total chaos in the universe. So in part God is not lying he is lifting his restrains. So when the delusion happens those who already rejected truth will be even further deceived.

I can explain the verse, but hardly anyone will like it. We are elected to salvation by God. He chooses whom to have mercy upon. He chooses whom He will open the Spiritual eyes (to see His truths) or whom he will open the Spiritual ears of (to be able to hear the truths of his Word.) This is hard for man to accept. He cannot on his own. Our pride and self-sufficient natures tend to lead us to a strong delusion that we have the ability to save ourselves through some version of a "do it yourself" gospel that includes somethin we must do to trigger it. We must believe, accept, receive, all verbs. These should be nouns of works done and evidenced after God saves us. Remember the dry bones in Ezekiel. Remember the true reason of the Sabbath. Remember the death of Uzzah in 2 Sam. 6. Paul did not hear the gospel and choose (a work) to follow Jesus. Jesus blinded him (to the wrong teachings of the church) and opened his eyes to His truths of the Gospel. Study this prayerfully in the Spirit. I humbly submit this and hope it helps.

I think he DID choose to follow. He had the freedom to accept Jesus and follow him, or reject him.... He simply did what believers are supposed to do upon accepting the free gift of salvation....

“Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” [SUP]18 [/SUP]And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; [SUP]19 [/SUP]and he took food and was strengthened.

God can cause them to believe a lie as a punishment for their rejecting the Love of the Truth (The Gospel way of salvation) but having pleasure in unrightiousness.. Loving evil..

2 Thessalonians 2: KJV

9 "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, {10} And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. {11} And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: {12} That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

So God does not lie to them but sends them strong delusion so that they shall believe a lie (of satan)

God can take away people ability to reason and their wisdom to make the right decisions and make them vulnerable to deception.. Look at what God did to Pharoah when he saved the Jews from Egypt.

Morning Angelique,

This scripture is speaking in regards to when that man of lawlessness comes, the antichrist. The lie that is spoken of will be when the antichrist stands in the temple and proclaims himself to be God. The false prophet will be performing those miracles, signs and wonders on behalf of the beast for the purpose of giving credibility to his claim. Compare 2 Thes.2:9-11 with Revelation 13:13-14, 19:20.

Regarding God sending the inhabitants a strong delusion, verse 10 says that he does this because they refuse to love the truth and be saved.

The strong delusion which allows the person to keep believing the lie . It has to do with those who go above that which is written, Knowing God is no longer bringing any new revelations. what we did have in part up till the last chapter (Revelation) we now have the perfect or complete will of God with no laws missing by which we could know him more adequately or intimately .

The warning is not to add or subtract from the whole perfect ,through lying signs and wonders ( false prophecy)again knowing He is not bringing any new revelations, we get under the authority that informs us and believe what it says.. .

The believer will be moved to repent when they deny Christ. In that way the Spirit of Christ makes our hearts soft as the good ground spoken of in which he plants the seed (His word).He cannot deny that he has paid the wage of sin if He has perform that work of faith . The unbeliever will be sent a strong delusion confirming his hard heart.

There are not any new signs and wonders.Christ said it is a evil generation(natural man) that does seek after them.

The book of prophecy, the Bible is complete. Therefore if any person says; this is what the Lord spoke, I just received a new audible revelation or I saw a form as a vision we are to believe not.

Those who do not believe as God gives him His faith to make it possible they will be sent a strong delusion so they can keep believing the signs, as that seen, the temporal and lying wonders.(wonders being the faith principle, the unseen eternal ).

Well scripture doesn't support your theory of animals and man being created on the same day.

Isaiah 66:4
"I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not"

Fear is a powerful motivator.

It can make One believe in a lie if One is weak in the Faith... or worse... if One is a non-believer.

;)

The preceding verse explains the reason; "Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved" (2 Thessalonians 2:10 and 1 Corinthians 1 :27). God reveals His truth, but its not wasted on those who receive it in unrighteousness. God can open our eyes and hearts to His word, but he doesn't throw His pearls before the swine. Delusion is not a lie, its simply clouding the vision (eyes to see) of those who were given understanding. When we ignore or evade his truth, God is content to leave us to our own devises.. jmo

Scriptures can't be broken. If there is a prophesy in the Bible, then God will Make it happen, because He does not lie, and if His Word says this or that will happen, then God will make this or that happen.
The reason why i say that, is because it is God who will set up the antichrist, and God that will cause many unbelievers to believe the lie from the antichrist. The antichrist has to come to power, why? because the Word of God says he will. the antichrist will have powers to even bring down fire from the sky. God allows this, why? Because God said he would have this power and it is written in His Word. Millions of people will attack the Holy City Jerusalem when it gets here, because the antichrist will convince the world that it is UFO that is going to attack the Earth. GOD causes the unbelievers to believe that lie and attack the Holy City, why? Because the Word of God says that the Nations will attack the Holy City. Remember satan has no power that is not granted to him by God. Things that Scriptures say will happen, God will cause to happen. PERIOD. If Scriptures teach that 1/3 of all trees will be burnt and all grass burnt. then i assure God will see to it that is a TRUTH.
What people seem to forget is that it is God that has prospered the Muslims to this very day, to serve a purpose for Him Now and in the future. You see the Jews to this very day are waiting to rebuild their Temple, but can't because of the Muslims. But when God is ready for them to rebuild the Temple HE will cause the Muslims to agree to a Peace agreement, which would allow the JEWS to rebuild their Temple. When they start sacrificing animals again, the whole world will see this as barbaric, It will be at this time the antichrist desolates the Temple and causes the sacrifices to be ceased, which in turn, the whole world rejoices.

Anyways. if millions of people will attack the City, it is God that will make sure that happens, in order to fulfill Scriptures. God will cause those unbelievers, unsaved, wicked people to believe the lie, in order for them to fulfill prophesy. Hope this answer helps.

The book of prophecy, the Bible is complete. Therefore if any person says; this is what the Lord spoke, I just received a new audible revelation or I saw a form as a vision we are to believe not.

Since there is nothing new in the New Testament that hadn't already occurred in the Old Testament:

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son,
Luke 1:30-31
~~~~~~~~~~
31 And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
32 And Leah conceived, and bare a son,
Gen 29:31-32
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
Judg 13:3
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
Luke 16:16
Harmless: Yes, you are right, I must respectfully. IMO we have to understand the basic premises in order with their importance and significance; first, God is light, in Him is no darkness at all, He deals justly and righteously and fairly with all mankind; second, God is love and man has a problem called sin; God so loved the world, not just the elect, that he gave His Son to taste death for everyone, (Heb. 2: 9), the atonement is not limited; third, He does not wish anyone to perish (2 Peter 3: 9), He has no pleasure in the death of man; fourth, He chooses according to His foreknowledge (1 Peter 1: 2); fifth, He chooses as He will, in accordance with His righteous nature (Rom. 9; sixth, God gives grace to the humble but He resists the proud (James 4: 6); He opens the heart of the humble to respond in faith, hope and love (Acts 16: 14); He will not be mocked however, he hardens the heart of those who resist Him. Because we do not have His foreknowledge, human events will sometimes appear unfair. God bless.
Angel: For one thing it means that those who read the account that Jesus gave of his return to rapture the church, and reject that truth, that they come under a powerful delusion so that they believe a pre-trib rapture of the church that is not even in the New Testament. That is one example of what that means...when one is presented with clear and obvious truth and decides to reject that truth, then they are subject to delusion.
Is that it Samuel, is that all you got? Talk about a immature christian. You know very well it has nothing to do with that topic at all. Foolishness that's what you have spoken foolishness.
