Hi there-

Lately I've been feeling empty and mildly depressed. I feel as if nothing brings lasting joy or contentedness and while I am not crippled by sadness by any means, I feel a slight discomfort. Even with God sometimes I feel as if it is too hard, or I become worried that the temptation is too great and I will lose hope of salvation, particularly with things like lust. Not only that, but in these blue states, thoughts of engaging in certain temptations make me feel slightly better. Of course, I am trying hard not to give in because I know it will make everything worse in the end. Still, I'm afraid I'll cave in.

What am I asking? I guess I'm just wondering why, even with God, I don't feel that joy that some people feel. The thought of Heaven used to give me that joy, but I have become more familiar with faith and scripture and realize that not all who sing God's praises or feel saved or think they are Christians are actually saved. The road to Heaven is NARROW, many will seek but FEW will enter. That thought depresses me at times because I don't know if I'll enter, and how can I feel joy of Heaven if that joy may not be met with reality? I feel like instead of joy my life is going to be more cautious optimism.

I just feel empty, lonely I guess. Thoughts?

We have all been through this.

God takes feelings away, so you learn to love Him by choice. The feelings will come back, once you have become strong in your choice. As a shortcut, we sometimes say: "put faith the facts and the feelings will follow."

we all go through places like that In our lives , when I feel like that I start to get into the bible , and put some Christian music on something uplifting and we should look to Jesus and place our problems on him .. Phil 1:6 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord ,Psalm 31:24 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31. hope this helps .. I will be praying for you ..

Quote Butin these blue states, thoughts of engaging in certain temptations.
The battleground is the mind when you feel tempted, 2 Corinthians10:5[SUP]5 [/SUP]We demolish arguments and every pretension thatsets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thoughtto make it obedient to Christ.

Tempted each and every time read your holy bible protects your mind, and the devil will flee from you.

I know the feeling. You've just gotta hang tough. Things will get better for you.

When God decided to create human beings, He wanted us to experience His love and dwell in His presence. God wants a loving intimate relationship with us that lasts forever. The human soul was designed for intimate relationship; recovery occurs when we are restored in oneness with God. God made us to be loved perfectly by him — to be respected and treasured by him. But we often seek this love in other people, and are disappointed. Even if we were perfect we would not be able to fulfill this longing in each other. Our limited love can never be enough to give each other the true identity and value that only God can give. Intimacy with God and soul fulfillment are always calling us. Our God given soul sensitivities are like road signs that point us in the right direction, and warn us whenever we go astray. We may try to ignore the signs, hoping to find satisfaction or happiness by pursuing our ego desires, but we can NEVER be satisfied until we have found rest for our souls in Him. Hi GM777
I believe God could be testing your faith. He is in the process of molding your spiritual character. There are times when we as believers will not feel God's presence close to us. it is in times like these that we need to hold on to God's promises. He is also strengthening you through spiritual trials.
A year from now you might think back to this moment and you will know you are stronger. there are so many other thoughts that can bring us joy about God and what he's done for us. I listen to a lot of Christian music and sometimes I will find myself driving along listening to a song and I will break down in tears of joy because God has forgiven me so much. to think we surve a creator that has the power to forgive sin like it never happened. God knows we will
fall down, but he will be right there to pick us back up again. just like an earthly father will pick up his child when he falls down and so it is with our Father in heaven.

Prayer and the Scriptures are the natural environment in which the believer in the Lord Jesus lives and breathes. Fellowship with others who do likewise thus becomes important. John said in his First Epistle, chapter 1: "If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another.' 'Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ'.

Even with God sometimes I feel as if it is too hard . . .

I understand; that's why I believe God gave me this life verse.

My Life Verse
♡ "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." - Galatians 6:9

God Bless ~
