Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I have insomnia and it has weaken me, I feel tired and nervous and I have no energy. I´m through menopause and I´m having proper medication for that, but I cant sleep. I wll appreciate your support in prayer, because I know that God is in control and He is powerful.:) Thank you

God bless you for your faith sister. Not only will I pray for you, but I will share something with you. Once some years ago, I found that I couldn't sleep because my thoughts were so many that I had no hope of quieting my brain enough to sleep. So I started trying to both count with my thoughts but also trying to picture the number visually behind my closed eyelids, thinking 1 and picturing a 1 and so on, up to 20, then if my thoughts still tried to pervade me, I'd count back down to one. The idea was to occupy my brain so much that it couldn't think on its own, eventually my brain silenced and I lay there quietly, no thoughts and I slept. Another experience I had was I worried I wouldnt be able to sleep and then the pressure fell on me, that if I didn't I would be exhausted. Thats when I thought about the natural events of life. Like my heart beat or breathing. I don't have to think about breathing while I sleep, my body will do it for me, also my heartbeat. sometimes it helps to trust that you will sleep just because its the natural way of things. Rest assured I am praying for you now though.. God bless sister :)

Isabelita God has wonderful things for you including sleep...restful sleep.

Here are some verses I quote when my mind is "racing":
2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Psalms 56:3 When I am afraid I will trust in you.
Psalms 23 The Lord is my Shepard...

I'm going to challenge you to write these scriptures on a card and read them before you go to bed.
I also challenge you to give your waking moments and sleeping moments to the Lord.
I challenge you to take control of the flesh (your mind) and tell it that you belong to the Lord and that he has commanded you to take care of the temple of the Lord (your body) and that you must sleep in order to do that.
This also means that you need to cutout things that stimulate your mind before bedtime... examples: internet or computer usage, talking or texting on the phone, etc. you know what is getting your mind going...
Do you have a routine? Do you go to bed at the same time each night? Do you get up at a decent hour? or you avoiding caffeine?

It's all the little things that add up and I'm sure the menopause doesn't help either. I'll be praying for you because I know it is exhausting.

Many people suffer from insominia. Prayer helps but so does exercise during the day, not ingesting stimulants, a healthy diet but not eating at least three hours before bed, having a reasonable and normal routine and schedule, etc...

Also, what some find helpful are teas that help you relax like Sleepy Time Tea by Celestial Seasonings and taking some magnesium before bedtime. Some also take like a 1/2 of a Benadryl occassionally.

Before go sleep take some linden tea ( te de tilo) and then pray to God about it. :)
