Some christians do scold, scream, scold, scream, scold, scream at you all the time, and then throw in an "I love you in the Lord, Brother."

Confession time. What do you think when that happens?

(I don't do subtle, so don't really have to tell what I think. lol)
 
If that ever happens to me, I may just walk out without saying anything, depending on the reason why I was screamed at. If it was done in love and concern, I would understand why they would do that, and not think too much about it. However, if that's not the case, I would question whether or not they really mean it when they say that they love me, and I would probably just walk away.

I would also wonder why I look that much like a boy for that person to refer to me as their brother. :P

I'm used to people screaming at me so I wouldn't mind long as they don't unlock their guns. Haha

Truthfully, I accept that I'm a brother, even if I don't have the right gender to be a brother. lol

ehhhhh

it depends on the scolding and screaming

some people are just tryin to give off an image

actual love is more than just saying it


its wanting the best for someone
and there is patience in love

if someone is always snapping and has little control in dealing with someone they "love"

i highly doubt that love is genuine

even if they believe it is


but i understand giving a hard message to a thick headed individual...

it should be a case by case
situation by situation thing


if youre always goin off and finding yourself in arguments....

thats a problem

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.



ive had happy gilmore like people in my life

that used "love" as a way to keep from burning a bridge
to aquire more over time

Philippians 2:14-16

14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;


(not saying im above sometimes doing it.... just sharing what i "think" on the matter)

It's been such a long time I watched that movie, so quick rundown on what Happy Gilmore means? (Too lazy to find the movie and watch parts to refresh my mind. lol)

adam sandler was an emotional mess


hed get so angry he would get violent....

then cry and say sorry and try to make up for it


(until he lost his mentor and ex-lover..... by the time he fell in "love" for real he cared not for his ex... and had patience)


and he loved his grandma... who he was always patient with...

xD


so it shows how much he actually loved his ex by example

It's sort of the spiritual equivalent of the quaint southern expression used after raking someone over the coals, then saying "bless your heart"......

15-16 but exalt Him as Lord in your heart. Always be ready to offer a defense, humbly and respectfully, when someone asks why you live in hope. Keep your conscience clear so that those who ridicule your good conduct in the Anointed and say bad things about you will be put to shame.

So, we are to be gentle and respectful to even our enemies, as it is, we live with Christ's demeanor in us, as well as a mind placed in Him. This tells us that if a man or woman lives in God's light, (and not the light of a humans godliness) the clear nature of things will be as clear and bright as light itself. If a man is under God's light, he will discern the intrinsic nature of things. The only time a person genuinely knows (even) himself is when he knows himself under God's light. If we are not in God's light, we may sin, in responding to another labelled under the "Work for Christ" but not feel the evil of sin. We may fail the Lord, living in the flesh serving others morally, but we will not feel the shame of failure. We can perform well outwardly, but inwardly we will not know how deceitful we are. We may be humble outwardly, but inwardly we will not know how proud we are. We may appear gentle outwardly, but inwardly we will not know how stubborn we are. We may appear spiritual outwardly, but inwardly we will not know how fleshly we are. When God's light shines on us, our true condition will be exposed, and we will see and admit how blind we have been. Now keep in mind I speak of God's worker here, as well as God's newly born.

The difference between the Old Testament and the NT is that the OT shows men what is right and what is wrong thru outward laws, while the NT shows men the true nature of things thru the Holy Spirit dwelling within. We often see our error thru doctrines, but we do not see our error thru God's light.

We have to realize that it is superficial to see our errors in the way we think, speak, and act, behaviorally with others thru doctrines - set aside from the Holy Spirit now in living a (Spiritual/spiritual) resurrected life. Only when we see our errors thru God's light is there a thorough seeing. But to answer the question, the good news is when we are in God's light we see what God sees. This is seeing the light in the light, and as God transforms us and employs our will in our acts of faith, He develops our demeanor to follow His own by His power and grace of gentleness and respect.

To me nothing loving about that.


Scold and scream will just raise barriers and such a person would soon be avoided.

If that happened to me then I would say “Given your screaming and scolding I doubt you love me”
 
When do we feel that Love is only genuine when everything is bliss and happy and serene? do we doubt Love is genuine in times of rebukes and confrontations and disagreements. Did Jesus still Love the Pharisees enough to strive to help them to see the truth?

It is hard to believe certain people can think they are loving another when they scold and scream at you and others often, and then turn around and complain about others scolding and screaming. Hard? No, rather, impossible. Some people are just full of themselves, and fly off the handle easily, imagining all manner of things that they rationalize within their own minds to justify their outrageous behavior and slander. I admit it is hard for me to love such people. They have much work they need to do, and I cannot help them, knowing they hate me so much; they have already clearly shown their rejection of me, and anything I have to say. I leave them to their own devices, and to the Lord.

nope

when someone wants whats best for me to the point of self sacrifice

and i know i love them when im willing to do the same


i understand people may not be like Jesus and may go off the handle

but more often than not

screaming and scolding is not rebuke so much as pride peaking out


now if you love that person
and they are just in error

you should be able to forgive them and act according to the spirit

instead of stooping to their level
