Hi, i'm 21 years old recently engaged to my boyfriend..the thing is I have to make a choices whether to continue studying for degree and at the same time marry him or start working and marry him.. My fiance did'nt agree with me pursuing study, he want me to work and my family especially my mum encourage me to study and marry.. and for me, I really want to pursue my study.. Anyway i'm not sure if married during study is a wise choice..I really don't know what to do know.. I hope to hear feedback from christian fellows

Hi, well i think if u are enoying your study and want to continue with it then you should. If you fiance loves you then he will respect that and be happy for you. Dont give up something u enjoy or want to do for someone else, u willl end up unhappy and possibly resenting them. I was married to someone who did not allow me to do a lot of things, since we have parted, i have learnt to drive, started a degree and got a fab job :)
aslo u need to get married when and only when u are ready, dont feel pressured into anything, it may be best to finish ur studying first. hope this helps a little :) x

I married at 18, had a baby a year and a half later, worked my behind off and went to college to earn my degree. I do NOT recommend this course of action. :) It takes a very special man, patience and a whole lot of prayer to make this happen.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but from what little you've said your fiance sounds a bit controlling (I could be wrong...), which would most definitely be a problem. I am concerned that if you don't go to college now, you may never go, and it seems very important to you. :)

If you want to go to school first, do that. If he loves you enough and if he is the right one for you, he'll wait. If not, you will know that it is not your best interests he has at heart.

God bless you :) PRAY ABOUT IT! A LOT! :)

I totally agree. Don't rush into anything; wait for God to give you peace about what to do.

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

Well, it sounds like you and your boyfriend already have different ideas of what your role would be. This is a potentially serious issue and one that you need to consider and discuss before making any decisions to marry. You don't want to end up in a marriage where starting out you're already in disagreement over your choices.

My advice would be of course seek God for guidance; however if you want to continue your education; I
think that's what you should do. If your boyfriend loves you then I believe that he would be supportive of you continuing your education.

I can't tell you the countless times that I wished that I would have continued my education; I truly wish that
I would have taken my Mom and Dad's advice and went to college after High School.

Please take it from someone that knows how hard it is to get a job with only a HS education. I've been laid off 3 times since 2002; and the last layoff was in 2009, and I'm still un-employed....
