I need help.

Okay, so I met this guy. He's one of my new friends. I have gotten to know some interesting things about him. The most recent thing that I learned about him is that he's an Atheist.

Last night, at my church's youth group, we talked about helping people become closer with God and not do any bad things that could stop them from going to heaven.

My friend, he's done some pretty bad things in his life, and I know that he doesn't want to do these things anymore.

Today, I woke up to a facebook message from him saying, and I quote: "... I'm seriously struggling to try to find a reason to continue breathing every morning I wake up..."

This made me think on my way walking to drivers ed. I want to help him. I really believe that God wants me to help him. I talked to God all the way to class, and I told him that I am going to need his help finding verses and support for this. I sat here on the computer thinking for a minute and then I just randomly got on here. After maybe a month or so not being on here.

I really think that God brought me back to my blog on here so I could get help from my fellow Christians.

So if any of you have any verses or things to add just let me know. This would mean a lot to me. (: I really hope I can help my friend.
 
Ask God to sprinkle clean water on him (the word of God) and to give him a new heart.

Ezekiel 25-29
I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. I will save you from all your uncleanness.

Ask God to purpose his heart to go to Him so that he will no longer feel weary and burdened

Ask God to bless him with His joy to restore him.

John 16:24
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Ask God to place into your mouth the right words to say to him.

Do not force the faith unto him but you must maintain your ground as you are not to be unequally yoked with a non believer. If you falter he will say you lie about your beliefs.

Invite him to social activities at church like picnics, concerts etc. Let him see that as a Christian "life is not boring".

And let it be an open invite to him for whenever he wants to come to church he is free to do so say it in a soft gentle voice or else it can sound like condemnation.

He must always see how happy you are in Christ.
 
have you ever seen a miracle? any miracle? even a small one? it many be nice if you could tell him of a miracle that no one besides GOD could have done. Pray hard for GOD to guide you and hopefully you have good church where he can go with you sometime and quite possible the spirit with come on him while there and overwhelm him with joy and he will then know that there is more to this life than what he ever knew. stay in prayer

I always find the song uplifting and a reminder that its grace that saves us not what we do or what we have done :)
