I don't know if it is appropriate to post here.

I am Maggie. I have become a believer since 2007. I started to study in US for two months.Everything went well at first, but when midterm came and requirement for endless papers, I kept finding out how weak I was--I always finished work slowly and in low efficiency.I thought no one could be more stupid than I was,and I even thought my adviser will be so regretted to admit me. I had so many work to do that I refused to socialize with others. But I locked myself in the room and still finished nothing. I can't see any bright side in my life,I lost all my hobbies, I became a nerd and had problem to communicate with people, and I don't believe anyone will like me or love me anymore .Then my homesickness suddenly broke out and I can't stop crying everyday.

I prayed and prayed. I hope god could forget and heal my weakness."When I am weak, then I am strong". Hope god's holy spirit with warm love could fulfill my heart again...

it sounds to me the holy spirit is calling you to trust god. when you were working were you more focused on the work or god? If god is our first priority above all else everything else will fall into place.these thought of how stupid you think you are- really anything negitive is not from god. they are lies and the devil thinks you will beleive them and give up. A specail part of a song has kept me strong and it's where god says( can you trust me that what you see is not what i see?) from what you said i see no weakness in you, if you were weak then why would the devil try so hard to put you down? it's because you are a threat and he knows it so he tells you lies so you cannot stand against hiim. change your perspective on life and everything changes see? imagine jesus talking to you right now, if you have read of him you know how kind he is. What would jesus tell you? he would say to you how strong and precious you are regardless of what anyone else says because they don't kow you but jesus does

I agree. You have to remember when you believed you painted a great big bulls-eye right over your heart for your enemies - both here and there - to take aim at. And they're not going to stop; you're occupying their territory. You just have to remember the rose garden at the end of the cesspool, and keep swimming. Whether it's today, next week, or the end of your life, God WILL lift you from it. And at that point you'll see that whatever it is you suffered, it was sooo dang worth it.

Maggie, I'm sorry to hear of your difficult time in college. College is not for everyone-- Jesus chose his disciples to build relationships, not academics; Many people put too much pressure on young people to succeed in college. I'm 54 and recently took 4 college classes online. I ended up dropping two because of similar challenges that you are having. There may be options for you to consider such as changing one or two of your classes to an audit status, or non-credit status. If you drop the hardest class, you can still focus on the remaining two or three, and most likely, not be penalized with financial aid. I would recommend that you discuss this with your advisor right away to find the most difficult class to drop. And then after this semester I would recommend that you take a break from college and just focus on your social life. Jesus cares about your heart above ALL else-- not our heads! Slow down, nurture your heart, and seek out some trusted friends, a counselor, or a pastor, or all--
Just slow down and enjoy life-- don't let school stress you out; We don't have to earn God's acceptance.
Do you have family you can talk to about this?
I'll be praying for you since, even though I'm a retired student, I'm also having difficulty; What you are describing sounds like what's called "oppression," where you're not able to concentrate, or maybe depression. You may need some counseling and maybe some medications for the depression temporarily. For me, moving from a small town to a big city was a HUGE amount of stress. Living in a new culture is even more stress--

Above all, don't isolate yourself-- take a few days break from your studies; talk to your advisor right away, and spend some relaxed time with friends, and read some Psalms in the Bible; Psalm 103 is good, and 93, 100, 104, 25, just start with those--
And when you get some time order the book, "The Bondage Breaker," and "Victory Over the Darkness," by Dr. Neil Anderson. These have been very helpful for me--
You'll be fine!! Seek God's love and friendship with friends--

Thank you very much for your words. I really appreciate that. I think I just too focus on the superficial event from which I've seen. You are right.I have to trust God that what I see is not what he sees. All I have to do is reading bibles and trusting god more than before.

Thanks. That's so encouraging! I think this is what God needs me to go through,by all the experience, I will be more close to him and stronger to defend the negative enemies with the lord he gives me.

Thanks for praying for me-it really helps! I feel better today. Dropping class is a good suggestion, but I guess I can't just because
if I drop class, I will not earn enough credits to guarantee my scholarship. I think things are not as bad as I thought before(maybe
it is because I am in an extreme oppression). All is just because I tried to cut myself off from my friends and my personal life. I treated study and work as my whole life, which is definitely oppositeas what Jesus want me to be. I should learn work for live, not live for
work.

I got up pretty earily in the morning, jogging for a while and earning enough energy again. I think Jesus is always telling me that I am more special than I thought. There must be a reason he chose me to US which is unknown for me.All I should do is follow him with strong belief. We are not alone to struggle with the problems,Jesus will be always with us.

You are not stupid Maggie. If you need help with work let me know. I went to school to be a teacher. Everyone struggles. It's the struggles that make us stronger. You never learn when you can do things naturally. We learn by failure. Failure is not a bad thing... nor is it your identity. Maggie, I am specially trained in working with students who speak English as a subsequent language.

Thanks Jordache, you are so nice. :)

As a college teacher, let me make a suggestion. Whether we in America care to admit it to ourselves or not, we have always relied on God for the new things we produce. My guess is that you were taught something different in China. Why not stop trying to write to prove what you can do, and ask God what each class is to mean in His plan for you? Pray about each paper and each new thing you learn.

hello maggie, you are a beautiful creation of God. You can do it. The Lord loves you. I am praying for you

Maggie, sweet heart, beloved of your Father...you are attending college in the US with English not your native language?
I cannot imagine how hard that must be. I am certain you are the very opposite of stupid!! :)

My husband and I just prayed for you, and he said, "There's nothing worse than feeling alone."
I think that's true. ♥

But you will never be alone, dear child! Your Jesus said he would never, ever leave you, or abandon you.
His love for you is unending, and His promises to you are yes, and He Himself is the amen to those promises. (2 Cor. 1:20)

I think when you go someplace new, at first everything is new and exciting. But after a while, you begin to long for the familiar, comforting things of home. :)
There's nothing wrong with that, my dear! It's just human nature. :)
As believers, we long for our true Home with God, even though we haven't seen it yet. ♥

I agree that you need connection with other people. You need to have contact with a church body, and hear teachings that will foster your growth as God's child. This learning above all is what we, as people who belong to Jesus, need most.
I admire you so much for being so brave to come to a foreign country! And to go to an American college! You must be an amazing young woman.
I can hardly wait till the day we will meet in person...and we will see the Lord, and be like Him. ♥

Meanwhile, I will surely pray for you.
I hope you will let us know how things are with you, as the Lord allows.
love in Jesus,
ellie
