On October 12th, I lost my entire world, my daddy. I just feel so lost! I'm putting on a huge front that I'm okay, but I'm not. I just don't know how to deal with this.

I understand that he is in a better place and that he is no longer suffering.

Life is so short, he was only 49 years old. Pulmonary Fibrosis is an ugly lung disease!! :(

One of the hardest parts for me is that I was on my way to his house when I got the call that he was dying. I was only 10 minutes away! He was gone by the time I got there. :(

I guess, I just need prayers to help me find my way and get closer with God during this time! I need something!

Thanks in advance for any prayers! <3

I'm so sorry to hear that! :( Losing a loved one is never easy, especially if you're really close to them. I'll pray that you find healing. It may take time, but Jesus is with you every step of the way. Don't ever forget that!

Please allow yourself to cry and grieve, if you think it would help. It may also help to talk about some of the good memories of your dad with someone you trust. I know you don't ever want to forget him. It would also be good to ask Jesus to fill you with The Holy Spirit, whom He called "The Comforter".

Hang in there, Sis! feel free to message me if you want to talk, ok? Love, -Nichole ♥

May you find peasce and comfort in God!!!

psalms 34:17-20
The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!

Psalm 34:19
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Ashley! :(

My dad died when I was 48, and it still felt too soon. I truly sorrow with you, sweetheart.
My dad had an appendectomy, and then complications. He was sent home, and then back to the hospital for a second surgery.
It went well, and the doc's prognosis was good. I'm in NYS, and he was in Charlotte. I was on my way home from the bank when my sister called my cell to say dad had an NG tube, but was awake and could talk, and I couldn't wait to get home to call him!
But...when I walked into the kitchen, my son was standing there with this look on his face...I don't remember what happened next, but my son tells me I backed away from him saying "no"...(shock is such a blessing)

Just to say I underatand that feeling...asking the Lord why I couldn't have seen/talked to Dad...idk why He did it that way, but I know it was for my good, and to bless me. I pray you will be given grace to stand on that knowledge, too.

When someone in Jesus dies, we grieve for the loss of the living. :(
Go ahead and grieve, honey! It's grace that allows you to see the blessing in his release from a very devastating disease.
I ask the Lord to allow His love and grace to grant you perfect peace. Keep your eyes on Jesus. This separation hurts! But it's fleeting. You will see Him again :), and I ask the Lord to give you comfort in that.

Abba, please show Ashley how to live without her daddy's presence here. Shower her with Your love, and make room in her heart for all of it.
Remind her heart that she still has the constant presence of her Abba, her perfect Father, and that You will work this for her good, too. It seems impossible right now, and I ask that You tell her that it's okay to feel that. Walk her through this painful process, to the praise of Your glory, and one day allow her to be Your witness to the fact that You are, and that You do these things, in Jesus' Name.
Beauty for ashes, Lord God, and the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise for the spirit of despair. May Ashley be called an oak of righteoueness, Your own planting for the display of Your splendor. amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make His face shine on you, and give you peace.
love,
ellie

Ashley,

I'm sorry for the loss of your father...I loss mine to alcohol.
I never really got to know him.

So from my point of view...I see you as blessed to have had a loving one in your life!

The only father I have ever known is our Heavenly Father.

Your request to have God closer in your life, somehow filled me with peace.
I can't explain it with words...but I think God used you to heal my heart.
I didn't even know was still a little broken.

I sit here with tears of Joy flowing down my cheeks!

My prayers go out to you and your family at this time,
Love in Jesus, Shekaniah

Thought it worthwhile sharing my experience with you...

A number of years ago my Dad got ill, at the time I was in Bournemouth, south of England, at College and my Dad was in Belfast, N Ireland, anyway, during the summer break, I managed to get home with my wife and boy, as soon as I saw him, I knew he was slowly but surely going downhill and there was really not anything that could be done. Although I was a Christian, my Dad was so important to me, he was my best friend (humanly speaking) and I loved him dearly. As the holiday ended, I went back to Bournemouth we my family. Term started again towards the end of September and my Dad got steadly worse, when in late November on a Tuesday, as I was having my time of morning prayer, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and He told me that my Dad was going to die and that I should go home, anyway to cut a long story short, I didn't go in time and on the next Saturday when I rang home to see how he was, my Aunt told me that he had died @ 3.30am that morning.

I was devastated, it seemed like my whole world had ended, the tears were tripping me for quite a while, I felt ever so sick in my stomach and I felt so alone, but most of all I felt so guilty that I hadn't gone home when the Lord told me to, so that I would have been by my Dad's bedside when he went home. I couldn't undo anything, so I went home and my Dad was buried on the Tuesday and then I went back to Bournemouth and College. I found it very difficult to study and I was in my final year of College, neither was I good company for my wife or boy.

About 3 weeks later, the Lord Jesus showed my most clearly, that my Dad was indeed with Him, so that helped to ease the pain some, but the guilt to a degree has stayed with me to this day and even recounting this to you brings it back most vividly...

I am more than certain that my dear Dad does not want me to feel this and the Lord Jesus certainly doesn't want me to, but time does seem to be reducing it.

Also, grieving (for the death) of a loved one is a natural process and MUST be gone through, time certainly is a great healer.

Yahweh Shalom...

Huge hugs Ashley, praying in Jesus for you for all help, comfort and streangth needed.

Hugs and God bless :)

Omighty God that you are. I lift up to you Ashlybee. As she is doing all that she can to be strong, but you know the heart and you see her crying from the inside out. Touch her Lord in a mighty way and let her know that she will see him again, very soon. Bless her Lord and surround her with the best of friends. In the Holy name of Jesus.

This is a journal entry that I wrote and thought I would share it with y'all... It's really depressing and long, so if you don't want to read it, that's okay.

"Daddy, I miss you SO much that it literally hurts. I still can’t believe that you’re gone. I know that you’re not suffering anymore and that helps a little bit, but not much. I’m selfish. I wanted you here for me."

He was supposed to have 6 months left to live, not 26 hours. I literally just moved from Fort Bliss, TX, back to Tennessee to be with him. He died the day I arrived. I did not even get to see him! :( I didn't even tell him that I was coming because I wanted it to be a surprise.

I didn’t get to see him because I kept putting it off. I was afraid of seeing him because I knew how weak he were. I was working up the courage to go over. So, I went to Walmart and bought a blanket for my new bed. Then I went and bought some Cheerwine because I knew how much he loved it but haven’t drank it in forever. I took my things I bought back to my in-laws house, and then I was on my way. I was on my way!!

I was on the interstate maybe 2-3 minutes when I got the call that he was dying. My heart dropped and I started crying hysterically! I called my mother-in-law to tell her what was going on and she told my husband. My husband and his dad were on there way to meet me at my Dad’s. - I was only 10 minutes away from his house.

I finally arrived at his house… There was two rescue squad trucks, an ambulance, and a fire truck blocking the driveway. So I pulled into the parking lot of this garage next to his house. I literally was jumping out of the car before I realized I didn’t put it in park. I ran up to the porch as fast as I could. I was trying to go into the house, but my step-sister stopped me dead in my tracks. She just held me. My step-mom came out and said that they had a heartbeat… Not even 10 seconds later there was no heartbeat. He was gone. Just like that.

It felt like someone had picked up my world and smashed it into a trillion pieces in front of me. I lost control. I started breathing heavy and then I screamed. Just kept screaming and crying. I started to fall… I was in mid-fall when my step-sister caught me.

Then I found myself asking everyone if he was really gone… I just couldn't believe it.

Finally my husband and his dad showed up, and I ran to them. Hugging my husband so tight and just crying. Then reality sank in for a moment and I got so sick to my stomach that I was dry heaving. It just couldn't be true.

My father-in-law gave me a comforting hug and then left.

My husband walked me back up to the house and I started asking if they were sure he was gone. I couldn’t stop asking that. Then when people would tell me he was gone, I’d start crying hysterically all over again.

The ambulance took him to the hospital just to see if there was anything that they could do. Which there wasn’t.

We all went up to the hospital and said our last goodbyes to him and that was it. My whole entire world disappeared before my eyes.

The funeral was beautiful. He looked peaceful.

Now, here I am missing my dad SOOOO much and I can’t just figure out how to live with it.

I moved back to Fort Bliss, Texas with my husband, of course. The only reason I was going to stay in Tennessee is gone.

He had Pulmonary Fibrosis and that’s what killed him. He was in a panic attack, and that's no good when you have that lung disease. It’s a horrible lung disease. The average life span is 3-5 years. The maximum life span for it is 8-9 years and he lived 8 1/2 with it.

RIP Daddy! <3 June 4th, 1963 - October 12th, 2012"

I salute you sister, for being a filial daughter. Well, it is God's plan when we come to this world and when we left. Take heart. You will be better in couple of days. Please don't blame God why your dad has to go to Him at such young age. God has His own plan and purpose instaed take this incident as a wake up call to get to know HIM better. GOD BLESS.

Lost my dad when I was 24. It wasn't easy. I wanted to tell him things I wasn't able to say while he was here. I will pray for you. It does get better. Keep praying.
