The internet provides us with so many great resources! Unfortunately not all of those resources are clean ones. Porn is a monster that has reared it's ugly head and has nestled its way into our lives like bacteria. I am not lenient on the porn issue, that's clear, but I don't look down on those who are addicted to it, men and women alike, because it is such a huge presence in modern life... how could you avoid it? This is my point of view:
Sadly men are largely victimized by the porn industry. It is the woman's pleasure that is always the focus, as the viewer is most likely a man. This in turn puts a strange, controlling idea in the man's mind as he's watching. Here, alone in his room with his computer, can enjoy a woman sexually without any sort of attachment to her. He owes her nothing, gives her nothing, only takes for himself. He feels like a man when he can enjoy a woman sexually, yet the complete opposite is happening without him realizing it (I'll come back to that). Porn does not reflect reality when it comes to sex. Porn often brutalizes and humiliates a woman. She is slapped around, thrown, called names and treated like an animal. Men who are addicted to porn and grow up with it think this is normal and will try to perform this with their eventual girlfriends and even their wives if they wait for marriage, who are horrified when they are expected to look, act and behave a certain way to please their man. How common this problem is, and how utterly stupid some people are by letting this become the new normal when it comes to sex. Sex is supposed to be a great thing but it has been twisted, distorted, dishonoured and funnelled into a billion dollar industry called porn.
Think about the reasons why God is postponing you being in a relationship with a real woman, one who isn't exposing herself to you on the internet. I personally believe that it is only fair that God protects a woman from becoming involved with such a man and the same goes for women who are addicted to porn (although your average Joe would say "right on! I'm so lucky!" to that... but who wants to be average Joe??). This is something that you will have to change in your life if you want to take a woman seriously and have a real relationship with her. Because I can be honest with you and tell you straight up that NO daughter of Christ wants to be involved with a man who has a porn habit. You need to step up and be a man about this situation. It's not too late to change your habits and change your view of sex. You can do it, there is no doubt, but only if you give this issue to God, lay it at his feet and say "I give this to you, Lord". It won't be easy and it may take many tries that may last up to years but you can beat this! When you are ready God will bring you a wonderful woman who won't look at your past with contempt. She will love you like a woman should love her man. But until then do not go searching for a girlfriend right now because you will only hurt her and yourself if you refuse to quit porn.
