This is such a broad question, that is what makes it difficult to answer. As is the same with women, it varies from person to person.
I suppose one thing is there are Alpha Males and Beta Males.
Alpha males are the strong leaders, outspoken. They tend to be heavily into sports and competition. Athletes to CEOs. They are confident, decisive. These are the kind of men women think of as ideal, on the surface.
The downside to Alphas is they have higher rates of infidelity and abuse. More likely to be workaholics and controlling. And tend to be less understanding and harder to connect with emotionally.
Beta Males are typically quieter, less dominating. They tend to be more artistic and creative in nature, or can be the highly intelligent, nerdy types. They are also more in touch emotionally.
Naturally these are general descriptions and things may vary, but overall these are two types of men.
The mist important thing to keep in mind is that men are individuals. Some are dogs and others are great people. This is true for both genders. So the best way to learn is to look at each guy. I, so often on here, see genders painted with broad, negative strokes about things that isn't a gender issue at all.
