Grandstanding and accusing the world and those in it,

Controlling loving christians and refusing to let good reasoning minds learn and experience,

Fighting amongst ourselves,

Insulting each other,

False believers causing trouble,

''The end is now'', ''The end is later''

Worry, Dont worry, Good enough, Not good enough,

Lies, hatred, anger, and false prophecy,

NO WONDER JESUS LEFT.

Now I know why he looked upon his own people and said ''How long must I endure you?''

PLEASE DEAR LORD COME SOON. I DON'T WANNA BE HERE ANYMORE.

I am dead serious here friends. I have felt much pain from athiests and other religious people attacking my beliefs and making me hurt so badly, but I never feel such terrible pain from anyone else but my own fellow believers. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US?

Is a Christian who puts love before everything else and makes serving God and their fellow man their mission a dead breed?

Am I completely alone in believing that being in Christ is a whole different animal than the world tries to teach us?

Tell me I am not alone here! Tell me I'm not the last child of God who thinks there is more to this than argueing over scripture, predicting the doom of the earth and picking apart our lives into piles of sin and no sin to the point that we leave our children crying, broken and so confused!

We are supposed to LOVE each other aren't we? Wasnt this supposed to be a different kind of Journey?

This path is so narrow I don't even see anyone on it. I don't even know if I'm on it anymore.

A million people stand before me and praise Christ, but I have never felt so far away and alone.....

sister, breathe. There are a million animals. All are bleating as goats. Some are real, some are fake, some are lost and some are found. The truth lies within you. Trust it. Don't let the misguided misguide you. If you feel the love of Jesus in your heart. If your heart is softened and your love abounds, fear not. For you know as well as I that God is love. This place is good to find fellowship. Maybe just on a small level, but where we are really needed besides a few threads where people cry for help is in the rest of this world. Where there are people who are honestly alone, or nobody cares. Let Jesus live in you. You are not alone, and if all you see is mud on the ground, look for the Shepherd. You know He won't leave you. God bless sister. Breathe :)

This is why my relationship with Jesus is between me, him and the bible. Christians and atheists can attack my faith all day long and sometimes it upsets me because of the cruel things they say but I've learned that you have to ignore most of it (if not all of it) or else you'll drive yourself crazy trying to deal with all of it. A famous preacher gave a sermon on this very subject and said that we must choose our battles wisely.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation." Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. - Philippians 2:14-16 NIV

you sound like Elijah when he felt like just giving up and ran away from Jezebel who wanted to kill him, but you remember what God told him?

1 king 19
9 And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 So he said, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”

18 Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

Don't listen to the words of contention but hear the pain and hurt of the people who are arguing. Look past the surface and see the heart in need of God. look past the pride and see the insecurity, the lack in faith in God for self confidence is no confidence at all. Strength is only found in God, wisdom in His Spirit for the most humble thought in God is greater then the wisest man in this world.

1 Corinthians 3:18-20
New King James Version (NKJV)

18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”;[a] 20 and again, “The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”[b

remember the two different types of wisdom....

James 3:14-18
New King James Version (NKJV)
14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

I'm a bit frustrated with all the contention, as well. It is sad, but somewhat inevitable, especially on a forum, where anyone can anonymously say anything. (I'm not complaining, only sayin'). Or, perhaps you weren't referring to the forum, but to "real life". Either way, it's important to remember that we are only responsible for our own walk with Christ. As long as HE is happy with you, then forget about what other people think, because unfortunately, Christians can be a very judgmental bunch of people :(. You sound like a sweet, encouraging sort of person, and you're probably not called to argue or debate theology (I'm not called to that, either, that's why I completely avoid the Bible discussion forum. "If any man be ignorant, then let him be ignorant"). I wonder, what if you only posted in the threads where someone is looking for advice or encouragement, like Deadtosin mentioned? That's what most of the people that I feel are the best contributors do, and we need more of them. You could even drop random encouraging encouraging PM's to people you feel need a boost, or go around giving rep points for good answers. Or search for people to pray for. However the Lord leads. But please don't give up (unless you feel that God doesn't wants you here), because we need more members like you! :) God bless, sister, keep your eyes on Christ, and let His love drown out all the negativity. Love, Nicole

Hey, I like these quotes - they sum thiings up neatly.

I'd say the reason you are struggling with this is that you are taking a humansit view of the world which, to me , is just fine but to your church is dangerous because you think too much.

Christianity imposes unrealistic and irrational criteria by which to live and then provides a loophole so that you dont have to be responsible for those actions. You have noticed the irrationality of it , thats all

Secular Humanism is a failure of a philosophical approach. It is entirely subjective in it's proclaimations.

Also, we are still responsible for our actions. I am not sure where you got this idea that we aren't.

Anytime the Gospel is preached, there will be contention and disagreement. Suppression of the truth in unrighteousness, is very unfortunate.

I disagree on both points.

In what way is a criminal responsible for his actions? (without referring to secular measures)

sloppy could you take this somewhere else?

I think when she post "my own people" she is referring to Christians.

Why the contention?

Revelation 12:17
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Thank you all for your encouragement. It has made me feel much better.

Thanks for your time as well Sloppy, and I do agree that there are certain rules set by christian men that are dumb and not worth following, but that wasn't my point and I don't want an argument here. Thank you though, and God bless.
