I am in spiritual warfare right now and I feel weak in it.

Please, bear with me as I explain this, it has been a while now, and it's either my unwillingness(sluggardness) or a demon opressing me causing me to be highly hesitant to go to church and fellowship around other believers.. If it is not demons I am to blame myself for being like this, just because im young, im going to be Sixteen soon, doesn't mean I should be lazy... but there honestly something very very wrong with me... Is it because im fulfilling the lusts of the flesh?(Galations chapter 5 verse 16?)I am lifting weights to pass the time, I don't have any friends right now.. I am alone, I know god loves me but, I know he can change me but it's just that I think it's like I feel like im a lost sheep starving from the real truth of the word of god, I feel I have no understanding, I feel really foolish, I have prayed to jesus many times but today(*7/7/2011) this prayer felt significant, I tried to play video games to pass the time, go to the park or something, I even considered going to churches, but one of them is just not properly suited for me(hey I don't want to follow Joel Osteen) Im interested in worshipping god through the lord jesus christ our messiah, but I am empty, I feel almost like something is missing, maybe it's just that im not saved? hey.. I don't want to end up as the foolish virgins who had ran out of oil..(Im thinking it means the holy spirit?) and I know I have to go to God through the lord jesus christ to attain the holy spirit by truly beleiving, following Jesus Christ, doing the will of the father who is in heaven, I just.. Oh I want to hope in Jesus, I think im just making obstacles in my life, I feel empty! Maybe it's my relationship with God? maybe it's very poor? maybe im not saved? I did not come here for attention in a way that I think im better than you all, but I came here so that I can ask if you guys can pray for me, if it be a demon that opresses me, or if God can truly convict me of what im doing because im desperate and empty, I have sinned again, I have masturbated again, I have insulted people.. Right now that this prayer felt sincere in July 7 I can't assume that I will stop masturbation but I believe it is a demon that is in me or opressing me or I am just fulfilling the desires of my own flesh, I think lifting weights(similiar fashion to body building but im not really going that far) promotes vanity in me and I think it blocks a potential relationship that I can have with God. Oh please anbody pray for me that god might save me..

And also just so you know I have to go to church myself if I chose to because my mother is not willing and she is divorced so yeah..

I examined myself and I don't think im bearing ANY fruit of a true believer..

Gabriel, I cannot step on your shoes completely and completely empathize with you. But I do know one thing. If the Holy Spirit convicts you of a sin, that you also know is wrong against Him, and you do not listen to Him and obey Him, you are actually rejecting God's plan in your life and you are rejecting God's power to work through and in your life. And during the time when we are doing this (because I have done it before and it sucks but God took me out of that situation) we feel exactly what you described, and empty void. A feeling of desolation. And the reason is that we are not yielding our will completely to God's.

Look, if you have sins that You know are sins, and you are still practicing them, and you feel the Holy Spirit convicting you of them, then take it as a warning that you MUST stop. For your own good.

As personal experience, it wasn't until I was willing to recognize that some things I practiced were sin that I then started to really feel the presence of God in me and started to serve Him and understand what it truly is to walk with Him.

Don't feel discouraged, God is powerful. He created the universe. He created you and knows your future, and if you truly believe in Him then your destiny is to be with Him for eternity. But if you truly believe in Him, also listen to His voice and do what He tells you to do. He is your Father, who knows you better than even you know yourself. You can't hide anything from Him. He has called you to be conformed to the image of His Son. And the day that you declared Him as Lord He sealed you with HIs Holy Spirit. It is now up to you to let yourself be controlled and guided by Him. All it takes is faith to know that He can heal you, humility and honesty to confess to Him if you've done any wrong, and diligence to seek Him daily through His word and prayer. Being a Christian is a constant battle, and we can't be in the middle. We are either being completely guided by His hand, or we are not. But if you choose to be guided and controlled by Him, rest assured that by His power, wisdom, love, peace, and joy He will lead you.

God bless you!

Praying in Jesus Christ is Lord that all that is the joy of His presance, care and victory will fill you to overflowing!

God bless.

I agree with Adrian and in addition to what He said, the bible says in 1 Peter "Cast all you burdens on Him, for He cares for you."
God knows your heart and He knows everything about you, He never wants you to be in sin or fear, that is why He wants us to cast all our burdens onto Him. Surrender those burdens to Him and recieve the joy and peace He has given you. Let Him have His way in you. God bless

Gabriel;
I am praying for you and for God to uplift you with His righteous right hand. One of the ways He has done this for me is to bring me first to a place of being so alone and pathetic...seeking Him in a state of almost desperation. I Know he can deliver you. He has delivered me from drugs, an obsession with adultry and fornication and a lifestyle of drunkeness. He saved my marriage which seemed beyond repair. I am praying even now for His delivery from my addiction to cigarettes that has kept a hold on me. I deal with the same kinds of self loathing and seperation you describe in dealing with my smoking. I can't seem to make myself stop on my own.

I will pray for you... and maybe you would pray for me as well(?). I do know and in fact I am certain...that He is still there holding us both in the palm of His hand through all of this. Keep faith in Him even when you don't feel Him. Hang on to Him. Continue to seek Him. Submit your will to Him in every way that you can. He is still there working a good work in you..and loving you.

"Lean not unto your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your paths".

God Bless.
GloryBe

My opinion is that you need fellowship to be strengthened and grow in faith. As it is said, a coal taken out of the fire will die down, but more coals together will light a fire. It is obvious that your heart is sincere so I'm sure God will guide you through. Keep praying and find a church. In Jesus, may God bless you abundantly!

Philippians 3:12-14
New King James Version (NKJV)
Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

going to church is a good idea but I didn't in high school. I had to take care of my little brothers and work and going to church wasn't on the top of my list. I try to go more now that I'm no longer living at home, have my own car and can make my choices more freely then I could have when I was 15. however if you have the means it would be good to have people to support you in your walk. I love the fellowship of fellow Christians.

However if you are not do not let the enemy lie and make you feel guilty. you can still read your Bible and pray and the alone study time will allow you to become more rooted in Christ. when you feel tempted think of a certain person you know that does not know Jesus and pray for that person. that way you not only resist Satan and make him flee but you also pray for another soul to be saved and come to know Jesus. Maybe pray for your mother?

May God's love and peace encompass you and your shield of faith be strengthen so you might grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. Give all diligence to your growth in the Lord.

2 Peter 1

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Yes. This is oppression. And it is by evil spirits. We will pray that that devil leaves in the name of Jesus. Do you believe Jesus' words? Don't you believe that if he said that anyone who believes on him has the power to cast out demons? If so then do so. You should not be afraid of this, because they are the ones afraid, they even tremble at his name. Look for someone in the church who is trustworthy or an elder, and speak to them about it. Find someone.

May Jesus bless you.
