I think you guys are both kind of right. (Nate and Repention)
We are Not repeat not called to judge the world. That is God's business.
Within the church setting is a little different. We are called to love each other, call each other to strive against sin and lead each other to repentance. But oddly enough we are somewhat allowed to judge each other, but only in a sense, more of a church discipline thing. We are not to judge someone who is genuinely repenting or trying to repent.
"It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh,[a] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord."
The Church here is called to throw this man out of the church? Yet what do we see about the man? He isn't mourning, but instead is boastful!
If someone is a practicing homosexual within the church - proud of it, not genuinely striving for God and repentance, not accepting that it is sinful. Then we are to remove them from the church.
This girl here though, she has came here concerned with a question... She is not proudly boasting - she is worried! The last thing this girl needs is judgement. What she needs is gentle love.
