I want to be closer to God. My emotions are like a roller coaster.

Please pray for me that God perfects me in his love (1 John 4:18). I want to know God on the deepest level possible. I want to be rooted and grounded in his love and be filled with his fullness (Ephesians 3:17-21). I want to be filled with his joy and peace (Romans 15:13). Help me pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17) and have faith that he hears me (Psalm 116:1-2).

I know all the verses but my heart fails me (Psalm 73:26). God is my strength and I know that. I feel down because I don't feel close enough to God even though I know he's near my broken heart (Psalm 34:18) and will heal it (Psalm 147:3). I'm so down. The LORD is my beloved, please pray for me that I know him better and have a closer relationship with him! Pray for me that I hear his voice and feel his love more! I'm down on my faith I guess, being attacked by the enemy. God bless you all, thank you in advance!!

How's your communion with the Holy Spirit?

Hmm. I'm not sure how to answer that. I realize that the Holy Spirit is sealed in me and that it makes intercession for me. How do I have communion with the Holy Spirit? These past couple days I've been telling God I love him a lot, I've been saying it throughout the day constantly like I'm drunk with love and yesterday I was in tears telling him I love him so much and that I want to live with him forever. This is something I never used to do before (I'm a new Christian). Is this the Spirit making moves in me? I realize the Spirit is God.

Violet, I love your comment. Isaiah 40:28-31 is beautiful. Glad you shared, and Jeremy Camp is awesome !!! My feelings are deceptive and it's like one moment I'm happy with God and then the next it feels like God does not care about me and I get really depressed. I start getting these thoughts that God does not want me to speak to him and that I'm not important to him and that he cares about others more than me and I get really down. I'm sure these are just the tricks of Satan. I'm a broken person. I heard in a sermon today that I shouldn't rely on my emotions for happiness because the devil can manipulate them. I'm a broken person. I only find happiness in the LORD.

But I should know better because scripture says in John 17:21-26 that he loves me just as much as Jesus. I need to adjust my belief of God's love with scripture. It's like I'm not convinced that God loves me with his whole heart. My faith is shot and it wobbles.

This is something we all do from time to time in our Journey with the Lord, and that is "negative self talk" Having a defeated "mind set" is the enemies play ground. Simply put, negative self talk give the enemy a "foot hold" into our heart & mind. If you truly want healing, strength, & peace in your life, you will need to take a stand against negativity in your thought life. Jesus will renew your mind, which will ultimately bring stability into your spiritual life.

I need to spend more time in the word and learn how to have a relationship with God who dwells in me. I recently realized that he seriously does dwell in me and he's not just far away in the sky somewhere. I'm used to talking to him as if he's wayyyy up in heaven and really far. I need to learn how to speak to him like he's right next to me. You're absolutely right sis. You're very good with encouraging words, I really take to heart what you say.

I'm having trouble understanding how to pray properly. I'm sure my prayers are being heard but.. idk. Maybe I can do a better job. Or maybe I'm just impatient. I want God to talk back, like I want to hear his voice when I pray.
