Because even christians doubt God from time to time. After all, christians are humans too. We're not some special breed of people who are happy ALL the time. Some honestly believe that we can't possibly move mountains, or raise the dead. If we do it in Jesus' name, it WILL happen. God says if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. And a mustard seed is pretty darn small..lol..

You can use Jesus's name all you want honey. I've been using Jesus's name to banish Satan from attacking my thoughts, and he still does it. Maybe I'm a cessationist. That's what I've experienced.

Do you wanna know WHY satan can still attack your thoughts, despite you banishing him in Jesus' name? It's because your thoughts are in a dark place, and you're dwelling in satan's territory. In this entire thread, you haven't reflected Jesus' in your thoughts or words AT ALL. You are intent on remaining miserable and until you smarten up and realize that, satan will continue to attack your thoughts, no matter how often you utter Jesus' name. :/ What you are is jaded, cynical, and doubtful. You've given up on ever being happy and satan is rejoicing at his hold on you right now. You can either get on the path with God and dwell in His light, or remain in the land of darkness with satan. That second option SHOULD scare the hell out of you. I know it scares ME, and I don't scare easily. As long as you're serving satan with your lousy mindset, you are not serving God. And isn't GOD much more worthy of being served?

Someone who embraces suffering doesn't post, "I want to die."

I don't doubt anything by God but I do doubt myself and others because there are things that are too much for us. Which is part of me initially posting in this woman's thread to begin with.

Here's the problem with that plan:
1. It's all about you.
2. You're just using Jesus' name to fight Satan, and you don't have the strength to fight Satan.
3. Thoughts usually aren't Satan. They're the evilness that is in us.

SUICIDE:

I know you are younger, but do you honestly think all of us have lived as long as we have without also having gone through those thoughts... and often, "attempts?" I've lost my grandparents, of course, my mother, my father, my first wife, my children, my dogs (yes, they mattered, too.), and so many friends I can hardly name them all. Each time, I sometimes sat here in this lonely house, or in a tent in a strange land with a pistol in my hands........ or I was well over a hundred miles an hour on a motorcycle..... or aiming my aircraft downward in a dive..... or thinking about just walking out into a hail of bullets.... once I was even only a half inch from the open electric panel at my house with a screwdriver shaking in my hand.

But I am still here. Know why? Because of two things. One is what the first Psychologist I ever worked for said when we were discussing a patient's suicide. He said, "Suicide is too permanent for you, Bill. You have to know what is just around the corner with the next rising sun." And the second is a persistent voice in the far recesses of my mind saying, "Not yet! I still have someone who needs your particular brand of butt-kicking."

Well, I don't know if that was really God talking, but it has always reached me. LOL That voice spoke my language.

So, we aren't shocked, nor immune to understanding thoughts of suicide. Yeah, we'll cry a tear or two if you do it. But life goes on, and we weren't sent here to take on the responsibility for whatever each individual chooses to do.

I will be honest and say right off the bat that I have not read every response on this thread, I have tried to read the OP responses but haven't gotten to the end yet.... A few thoughts maybe it will help and maybe not....here goes.

We are living in a world of sin, it wasn't always this way as it was created perfect, but we humans messed up by sinning now it is what it is and we are all suffering because of it. But God has loved us all enough to have a plan for a way out of this mess and His Son had to die to pay the penalty for what we have done.

Life isn't fair.... I may not be dealing with the problems you have to face everyday but I have had my share of problems that make some people go postal and end up in jail. My woe as me tale a little anyway started out finding my mother dead when I was 8, my father died of cancer when I was 12, got married at 17, divorced at 24, pregnant and unmarried at 25, raised a child alone, attempted suicide at 40.

Happiness isn't something that just happens to you, it is a choice and even though there have been things that happened to me beyond my control after my father died when I was 12 I decided that I didn't want anyone to feel sorry for me because my parents were dead so I looked at the brighter side of life until I hit 40, when menopause, teenage daughter and chemical imbalance hit all at the same time and then the suicide attempt. But after counselling and medication to get back in balance my happy self is back.

I don't look at life through rose colored glasses, but I choose to not let the bad things that happen in life affect my mood or attitude toward others or life in general as I understand that God wants the very best for all of us and provided a plan that someday we would again live in the perfect world He intended for us to start with....

I don't know if you get what I am trying to relay to you, but I hope that it will help you to understand that it is up to us to choose to brighten the corner where we are, because at the very least we should be grateful for God's grace and the sacrifice He has provided for us through His Son to save us from sin and get us back to the perfect world He intended for us to have... It's a hope and some call it the blessed hope we have through Christ Jesus. The good news of the gospel.

I hate this world and what it has taken from me, but I love God and His plan to make it better in the future...

Prayers for you and what you are dealing with and don't give up hope for what your heart desires because God loves you and does want the very best for you and even if you don't get it here you will get more than you could ever want with Him when sin is over and done with....

You want a fairy tale life, one free of pain and suffering. One filled with only happiness and no sorrow. News flash, honey: REAL life doesn't work that way!! God did not put us here to have entirely happy, easy lives. The ONLY long-lasting relief we will get is when we enter heaven and are renewed and restored. YOU must be a masochist then, because you sure are hanging onto alot of pain. And you're embracing satan's world of lies. I guess you must not love Jesus very much at all, if you're willing to serve satan and remain miserable, instead of serving God and letting Him make you happy. People here have tried to help you and you resist all advice. Have fun serving satan for the rest of your life, because I guarantee he will make you even more miserable than you are now. Oh and btw, people who are truly committed to wanting to die, DO NOT come onto an open forum and announce it. :/
