For me it's when I have fell down with my Cross and needing to pick it back up and carry on the journey we have with Jesus Christ. When we go though pains and sufferings we have to remember what Our Lord Jesus Christ went though on his journey to Calvary.
Though are sufferings we get closer to God I believe as we will seek him more in prayer which is very important. To me this is the biggest lesson I learned also the time of our suffering is mostly our trials that God places us though to grow more in Him.
Rom. 8:18 "The sufferings of the present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. We thus have hope that any sufferings we or others endure, no matter how difficult, will pale in comparison to the life of eternal bliss that awaits us."
Luke 9:23 “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

We are all sinners saved by grace and none of us are better or higher or of more value than anyone else in the family of God.

That sometimes we and others will hold us to a higher accountability than God does. We sometimes carry burdens we should not and allow others to put yokes on us that God never intended. We are to be freer in Christ than we might allow ourselves to be.
