Today's Sunday school and main service lessons were awesome! In Sunday school, the leader spoke to the question, "What is a Christian disciple." In the service, we were reminded that we are called to feed His sheep. Jesus circled, starred, and highlighted the importance of showing our love for Him by taking care of those in need. And we all are in need, in some way. In Sunday school, the take-home message was keep listening to the Word. Likewise, the service taught that Jesus, being the Word, was to be heard and obeyed.
The Sunday school notes are as follows:
A Christian disciple has surrendered everything to follow Christ. (See Luke 14:26-27, 33) A disciple will diligently saturate in the Word. Jesus said, "If you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed" (John 8:31). Other verses mentioned-- 1 John 1:3 and Jeremiah 15:6. Jesus and the Scripture are talked about synonymously. The Word is Christ and His teachings. The Bible is the best written compilation of God's lessons.
