Idolatry is the sin that every human is guilty of.
that may sound odd, because after all, i dont have a golden statue of a bull that i sacrifice things to in my room... but thats not the point.
Idolatry is having other Gods besides God.
That doesnt mean that you worship Ra or Thor so much as you worship YOURSELF.
idolatry would be the exaltation of ones own ego above all else, especially in this modern world where it is encouraged above all else.
There is something quite akin to Idolatry, at least in my mind. It is the belief that God favors those who are in good fortune, like the rich, famous, or powerful. How could one maintain this belief as Christians? Has noone even heard the sermon on mount? it in esscense raises up all things that worldly wisdom spits upon.
I know that whenever i feel offended by someone else, i am worshipping myself and not God.
