I have a BA in Nursing Studies, my friend who went to a different uni in the same city has a BSc, it just depends where you go as to what it falls under. The debate being is nursing an exact science? An art? A vocation?

I hope its not an art. I don't want any nurses getting creative on me! :O

First make sure it's not monopoly money then faint. (It would have to be a really really really long long long lost relative) :p

Sometimes you need to be. It is hard to treat a problem when you don't really know what it is, or the patient is difficult in some way. I find nursing is far far more than a science. I would say it is an art, and not everyone can be the artist. At the start of my training I laughed when people called it a vocation but now when somebody asks me what I do I answer with: I am a Nurse. Not I work as a nurse, it has become a part of me and that is not scientific.

ps. zero i know your reply was lighthearted but the debate surrounding nursing does have a serious undertone

Yes yes, I really appreciate nurses and actually hope to marry one someday. I got to work along side them in a way when I interned as an inpatient pharmacy technician. They are my most favorite people in the whole world. I would be one myself if I could stomach the stuff that they do. They are really unsung heroes.

I would like to say I would only keep 1.3 million for myself. For that's how much an average person in America makes in a life time. And save the rest until i knew someone needed it or deserved it. Such as walking down the street and you see a man hold the door open for the next 20 people exiting a building. You see a person in a grocery store struggling to find 25 cents to pay for a drink and the person who is already about to leave see's this and turns around to help not out of greed so they can get out faster. But out of charity, love, and compassion.

I'm in a very 'romantic' mood at the moment if you will. EVERYONE IS LOVING :D

But push come to shove what would I do... Make sure above all I don't let the money corrupt my family. I.e. children become non-aware of the world around them. Close ones strive to use you as a crutch and become a burden. You know. I would want to be normal and happy.

Here it's a BS. I'm going to get my AAS in nursing first, then move onto a BS. I need to work and go to school at the same time, so I'm taking baby steps.

sorry to be so off-piste, but I'm wondering if RNs (which is a mandatory 4 year degree now in NYS) even get to do much patient care in hospitals?

my nurse buddies say all they do is paperwork. :(
and that the hospitals are hiring more and more CNAs to do what they're properly trained to do.

is a cna a care assisitant? in the uk any qualified nurse could be considered an rn as we are all registered.

100 million could change many lives, i think i would deffo invest in a few properties, then secretly and descreetly help people who needed help i think it wud be much more fun than wasting it on stuff

What would I do with $100 million...hmm...

Everything!

Nothing!

Eradicate the judgmental deer problem in my yard!

Hire a maid!

Get plastic surgery to look like Angelina Jolie for a little while, then get surgeried (spell check says no to that word) back to me!

Or maybe I'd give it to someone who would do something you know, sensible.

LOL! When I saw you had posted in this thread I thought, "I'm going to comment that she could use it to get the deer to stop judging her." So awesome!

After seeing this thread again I found it out!

I would like to see how many quarters I would have to spend on that claw machine to actually win a stuffed animal. With the remaining $5 and after wasting 45 years of my life. I would buy a price tag and a big sign. Drive to a flee market and put $99,999,994 on the price. And put on the sign in giant letter: DISCOUNT! $1 off original price. :o

my bad...:o

CNAs are certified nurse assistants. my sister has a CNA degree, and she learned a LOT during her two years at school. but she doesn't begin to have the abilities a true RN does.
which seems weird to me, since in most states RNs are at school for two years...

I've always wanted to have enough money to anonymously send someone money. I mean, who wouldn't like to find $500 in the mailbox when you really need it??? I would pick 100 people from all over the country and send them $500 every month for a year. It would be only my secret and they or anyone else would never know it was me.

Hmmm

I'd,....

Pay off my debt and the remaining loan of my parents house
Give money to a project in church that helps children in Zimbabwe
Get a house for myself
Get furniture for the house (one room would be dedicated to bookshelves and books :D)
Give money to the charities of the town I lived in before moving here, as there are plenty of poor people there

oh, and then I'd invite lots of people for a dinner at my new house :D

If I could get through nursing school with my eyes closed I'd totally do it!! :)
