I watched this movie called Victoria & Abdul.
Victoria - Queen Victoria and Empress of India. According to this movie version of near the end of her life, she was tired of being Queen and all the pomp and ceremony and servants currying favour. She befriended an Indian emissary who stayed on to be her servant, and then when they got to know each other and established a friendship, she stopped calling him her servant and was her teacher instead.
He taught her Urdu, and she learned what mango chutney was.
Aside from glossing over the horrors of having a fatwa against her, she learned a bit about Islamic culture though she would never live to see the Partition of India. That was a complete mess.
