Some feets away from the river she sat,
The broken peices of her life in her hands;
She had been holding on for too long,
The sores on her palms,
The evidence of how long she had been holding on,
There and then, she decided to end it all.

She began walking towards the river,
The broken pieces of her life in her hands,
No one would miss her, that she was sure of;
Even her parents had never wanted her,
The ones that had wanted her,
Her virtue, they had taken with them.

Life was worthless she concluded,
'What was the point living through it?' She questioned,
She walked counting her steps, hoping someone would call,
Call out to her and give her words of hope,
Tell her that there was still light at the end of the tunnel,
She needed the light to dispel the choking darkness in her life.

She looked back, hoping, waiting,
But with none in sight, she walked closer to the river;
If only, if only there was someone out there,
Someone to give her a lifeline of some sort,
Someone to tell her that things could get better than they presently were,
But with none in sight, she walked sadly into the depths of the river.

Dear You,
There are many out there, broken, shattered, battered, abused, looking for a way out, searching desperately, hoping that somehow, through someone, they would find the strength to keep living. These ones need a lifeline, and not just any lifeline, they need 'The Lifeline.' 'The lifeline of the Saviour,' of 'The Redeemer,' they need 'Jesus.'

Carry your candle, run to the darkness, and with the help of Jesus, save these ones before it becomes too late. God will help you as you take the step of faith, and begin to act...
