Would the project be called 'Lebab'?
Could somebody explain this one to me? I feel like I am missing a reference point that makes this funny... Perhaps a reference to a movie everybody else has seen?

What is it if it is spelled in reverse order? ;)

I never took any training in cryptography. :p

Clever joke, but only if you put the explanation along with it.

I thought you had Hebrew in mind, thus heart of the earth.

There is no such thing as a magnetic North Pole without there being a magnetic South pole. The magnetic poles on the Earth are at a point source, a particular fixed localised place. There has to be a corresponding South Magnetic pole, a point at a particular location.
Therefore there can be no such thing as a South pole which is a ring around the edge of the Earth.
Magnets do not behave that way.
The Earth is a globe with a magnetic North pole and a magnetic South pole.
Flat Earth cannot explain the Earth's magnetic poles.
The simple fact is that magnetic poles only exist as pairs.

(This has nothing to do with the fact that the magnetic poles do actually move slightly.)

Wow, this one dug up again?

I'm not a flat earther, but even I have to comment: For something we don't believe, we sure are talking a lot about it. :p

And paradoxically you never dig up this old thread. It is people arguing against the concept that habitually disinter it.
Interesting. I didn't realise that... I wonder what it means? Do these people secretly have doubts?

Always the optimist...

No, they just like to find things to argue about.
But Flat Earth? Surely there are more stimulating topics of argument than that, if they truly believe Earth is a ball? :)

Never underestimate a human's need to prove somebody wrong.

And this is an easy one. It is the internet argument equivalent of people making fun of furries. Everybody does it because everybody sees everybody else doing it, so everybody considers it low hanging fruit for satisfying that urge to prove somebody wrong.

What exactly are 'furries'?
Humans who wear anthropomorphic animal suits and act out another facet of their personality while in costume.

It's like a cross between being in character on stage, using a puppet and having an alter ego. And they are really popular to pick on.
