Dear Dough57,
I read your message when you first posted it and felt sorry for you, but I didn't think I could answer your question. Since then God has laid it on my heart to respond to you so here goes. (I sometimes tend to ramble, maybe a function of my age

, so please bear with me.)
I was reading a devotional yesterday morning, written by Dr. Charles Stanley, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta and founder of In Touch Ministries, and I came across this sentence,
"...if you're still alive, God isn't done with you yet." I immediately thought of you. Later on in my reading, I came across Romans 8, verse 28, which says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
I know things may seem bleak and hopeless right now, but I also know that
it isn't God's fault. God loves you unquestionably! In Romans 8:38-39, Paul said, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." God wants the best for you, just as he wants the best for all of His children.
You do not supply some details about your situation. When things were going well with you, how did you earn a living? Do you have any skills? Did you have a trade or career? How did you end up as you are? That is insignificant in the larger picture, but there may be some hope for your future, since you have done well in the past. Romans 15:13 says "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
In today's devotional, Dr. Stanley wrote, "God's power is manifest in man's weakest moments. ... You are always in God's hand. ... God never allows anything to touch us that He will not turn to good for His kingdom." I know that God
does have a plan for you. And I'm sure that that plan includes
Him deciding when you pass from this life.
Keep praying! Keep staying as close to God as you can muster. And most of all, Trust in Him. I truly believe that whatever He has in mind for you will prove to be more than you ever imagined.
