If you have Forgiven them, Why do you bring it back up?

If you have forgiven them, why do you bring it back up?

Jesus forgave you of all your trespasses, each and ever single one, and forgot them all, not holding you to any promises you vowed, or any sins you committed. It should not be hard for you to do the same.

Once forgiven that thing has no more power over the person, but if you bring it up, you put them back in bondage again, even though you said you had forgiven them.

Don't even bring it up!! Forgive and you will be forgiven!

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

But, sometimes it's because they keep on commiting the same act, and in that case they have not truley repented.
We do need to keep forgiving. And not hold on to bitterness, because that olny hurts us.
If our brother keeps sinning against us, we need to cut them off, to guard our heart.

Luke 17:3,4
So watch yourselves.
“If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”

Matt 18:15 -17
“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
 
Honest Forgiving from the heart in the manner Jesus Christ has done on the Cross is Hard and needs Truth, Honesty and Help of Jesus Christ to truely Forgive a person in a manner you describe or Jesus Christ has Practiced. Jesus Christ loved Man, wich is very helpfull for forgivness, one might find it easier to forgive a Sin towards a person he Loves with all his heart, while towards another person guilty of the same sin but not in Love will find it difficult to impossible. Jesus Christ loved the World. The other thing is Truth and Reason, Jesus Christ said they dont know what they are doing, and he was right and knew it, he saw man and the world in thruth, nothing could decieve him, he knew who he wanted to forgive and why "they dont know what there doing". Then we most have a hard time because although we desire to forgive because it is a command and we desire to obey it, is that Satan and Demons start to continueallly bringing the situation back up in minds, the scenary wich we were being sinned bye. In that manner it is hard to find Peace, nor sound mind wenn being bothered by them, and satan exactly know how to get our attention to go over the scenario again and again so by the time it will become a loop and we sit there without peace but anger, hate and vain imaginations. There is more to it then that, but it should show you that its not easy to truely forgive a person or persons. But its possible i have witnessed it myself. Dont be harsh on Christians in that manner, but consider all.
 
People need to realize forgiveness is not a one time thing. It is a long, lifetime process. And many times you have to forgive over and over maybe yearly, monthly or even daily. Just gotta depend on Christ to help you love as he loves.

Absolutely Ramon. We're good at processing forgiveness mentally and forgiving with our wills but God wants that to extend to our hearts for it is ultimately from our hearts that forgiveness must happen.
 
If someone has forgiven something, then feels the need to bring it up again, it means they didn't truly forgive in the first place.

They only forgave one or two exposed layers. They didn't dig deep enough and forgive all of the layers at once. The hidden ones hadn't yet revealed themselves.

That's why.
 
Forgiveness is more than words. It requires great courage and love to forgive.

I can speak, but in my mind I am not over it. I only forgive for a place in heaven. If I begin to understand the nature of love, the nature of salvation, of all men, then I begin to understand the pointlessness of holding onto any trespasses against me.

It is meaningless. i have also sinned. As does everyone. I can remember times where I had made mistakes and wished forgiveness for them. SO to be able to give someone that immense weight lifted will be an honour.

It is only when I stop making it me against them.

If my girlfriend cheats on me, it will only hurt if I regard her as MINE. She is God's.

She is God's and only god's. Her sin will be revisited upon her. She will see her tresspasses in their entireity alongside God's truth, and realise in her heart what she has done, so that her sin be upon her.

She will not die for that sin, because Jesus paid the sacrificial price, she will be reformed of it. Her sorrow will be sincere, her regret will be true. Her knowledge of Christ will be full, and in that, she will know. But I will also know as I am known, and will no longer require her apology, for it is meaningless words. I will be reformed of my earthly desires and I will love her in a way that I cannot quite comprehend when I am looking at a 'faded reflection'.

Forgiveness for me, is realising that nobody is the same person everyday. THe river flows and a lot happens in 24 hours. It is not reacting.

For instance, if someone hears about what I've said and decides to hit me, they hit me from an idea they have formed without knowing me. They hit their own mind.

In the same way, my girlfriend will have cheated on her own heart. She will have done something and her shame will be upon her. It is nothing to do with me.


Perhaps, in her mind she does not fully understand love, she is not ready for that commitment, she is blinded to things. She can't truly be with me. She is lost. There is something she feels attached to that she needs from me that she has not explained. But all of this comes from her. None of it from me.

Her mind has no bearing on my mind, nor mine on hers.

So if she cheats on me, that is her doing, not mine. That very action is simply that, an action. And I did not do that action. I have no part in that action.

The only part I have is my reaction. If I react, I will make strife. I will be attached to an outcome that might not even exist.

If I simply ask her 'what do you wish to say', then she will say it and that will be that.

Her action has no bearing on me.

I will dispel the situation and reveal the real truth without emotion in the way.

What is her mind is her mind, and what is my mind is my mind.
 
CC is starting to look more and more like a bad zombie movie, with all the dead threads walking around n' such.
 
I am living in someone else's inability to forgive and it's so very painful. He is still in bondage but we both deal with the consequences of not following the biblical, Godly model.
