The kindness of God's Spirit within you prompted you to offer the man a ride.
Even if he did steal your resume he probably couldn't have passed himself off as you in a job interview (LOL) and when time came to show his photo I.D. I suspect he'd have some explaining to do, even if they hired him!
As for coming back to your house...what would he be looking for? He just wanted a ride to wherever he was going, right? So if God protected you enough to watch over you while in the car with a complete stranger, surely God will also protect you if that same stranger ever showed up on your door. While I don't recommend picking up hitchhikers (especially for women) you did what you did and that's that.

I suggest listening to that Amy Grant song, dothackedO, and, moreover , realize God does not only protect us physically from harm VIA angels, but other ways too, like watching over our possessions, as God instructs Michael (no, not John Travolta) and Co. to do
Remember, too, the blood of Christ protects us. Same as in bible times when, in Exodus God asked Moses to have the Israelites put literal lamb's blood over their doors so when God passed over to kill all Egyptians' firstborns He would pass their door , not killing the Israelites (God's chosen people) firstborns.
God has a plan and sometimes, like 9-1-1, He trumps everything else -sure there were a lot of good God-fearing men and women that died in the Twin Towers toppling and planes crashes. But God just, regardless of protection prayed for by families for their loved ones going off to work on Twin Towers or going for a plane ride like Todd Beamer, who helped orchestrate takeover of plane thatvwas supposedly headed to crash into the White House and instead crashed in a Pennsylvania cornfield. All died on that plane.
But, D_H_0, what I am saying here is to pray -often-- for your private information protected, not just that resume but for whatever is private, and, don't just pray genetically . Pray for God to Keep His hedge of protection around you, around your family, and, around your stuff. (Remember, too, EVERYTHING we have, all our possessions and people around us, is given as gifts by.....God.
And, lastly, do things to please Him, so as not to give Satan a foothold, and, therefore, a stronghold in your life as God cannot protect us when we are doing things contrary to His 10 commanded biblical ways laid out by God through Moses , in Exodus.
