In the beginning there was two brothers.
One grew crops, the other tended live stock.
Both were moved to give a sacrifice/tithing of their best from what was given to them by God back to Him. In honor of what he has done for them.
One brother follows the request and his sacrifice was pleasing to God. The other kept his best back and made only somewhat an offer.
When God showed his favor upon the son who did as he was told. The other son became indigent and jealous. He let this anger and hate grow not looking at what he lacked to do and instead blamed his brother. God even warned him sin was at the very door. This lead to him being filled with such rage he killed his brother who had done the will of God.
You know these two as Cane and Abel. So it was, so it is, brothers and sisters God has given us all you have. He is the one who blesses you. Knowing it is he who gives you all, why do you reserve your best for someone else? Whom do you love?
Do not look to the left and right of what your neighbor has and one doesn’t have, that is not for you. Count and measure what was given to you with humility and joy for there are those with less then you. Trust the lord that if you give your best from you heart out of love. He will give you even more for you have shown you are trustworthy.
This is the problem and the heart of a man. We think we are in control, that we deserve the best of the crop and the herd because we “worked” it and “earned” it. Do you not know if you do the will of God he not only has what you kept from him but, would give you so much more and better then the best you kept had you not with held from him? Out of the heart comes truth that is born from what you live and treasure.
For who made the sun and the rain, who made the stars and the land, grass and every living thing? Then if He has the power to do these things, how much more would he reward those who give Him all their heart and love? Those that hold nothing back from him in their heart or hand. Because they have learned this world matters not and what is in it came from God. What is greater to grab on to, that in this world which will die and rot. Or that in heaven which will never die and will renew? Not for the recognition of man, but for the pure joy it will being to God to see such faith, understanding and love.
Jesus asked this same thing about the gold in the Temple and the alter. Again, has been the issue since the beginning of time.
The alter of your heart, what are you willing to sacrifice to God? Is it a sacrifice done out of love to the one you are sacrificing for? Then is it truly a sacrifice for the one you love and know he loves you? Who gave you what you have to give to him? He knows what you have, and what you can give. How much greater a gift will he give to those who truly love him?
This is not about money or things of this world which you cannot take with you. Well, it is but, it isn’t. It is all about who do you love and trust? Who do you honor?
this is a very important lesson. I’m the end of days there will be a great falling away and brother will hate brother. Why?
There where 10 virgins going out to meet the bridegroom, 5 wise and 5 foolish. Why?
