  2. 1 Chronicles 1:19

What is your understanding of the division? Was this why we have the ring of fire?

What is your understanding of the division?

A literal splitting of the earth is something that I have not ruled out yet. I have seen others talk about it over the years.

I'm sure you have seen Neal Adam's videos:

Was this why we have the ring of fire?

There does seem to be indications that something major happened with earth's crust:

Genesis 7:11 - In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened."

Some have argued that there was no rain or clouds before Noah's flood. That is another indication that something drastic happened.

Then there is this:

Job 38:8 - Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

The ocean was birthed quickly. There is debate on when that happened. Were there huge oceans before Noah's flood, or were there small pockets of water?

If one keeps reading, there are other hints:

Job 38:9 - When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

Again, when did this happen? And why would God mention how big the earth is in all of this context?

Job 38:18 - Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

Did the earth expand during Noah's flood? I have a theory that the 'day is as a thousand years' verses are about Noah and the flood. For every day he was in the Ark, a thousand years passed on earth:

2 Peter 3:6-8 - Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalms 90:4-5 - For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up."

Why would God connect the 'Day=1000 Years' concept with the flood? Is it literal or symbolic? If Noah was in the Ark for say 360 days, does that mean 360,000 years passed on earth? 360,000,000 years?

They say modern humans date back to 360,000 years ago. Interesting!

Great topic @Omegatime .

Oh, and I believe that the Tower of Babel event may have messed up our space/time continuum, so there's that.

Funny how AI shows Pangea... lol.

Yes, Peleg was born 101 years after the Flood and died 340 years after the flood. Lifespans dropped considerable after the flood.

Earth can translate to - The Earth, country, territory, nation. Divided can be - Divided, split. Peleg translates to Earthquake, and divided, split or channel/cannal, stream, river.

The amplified translates it to the people being divided.

In the creation story it is comparable to __In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Hebrew meaning used for land or earth is +Erets +

I would say the amplified version is wrong
