Part 1: The Online Persona
Integrity is one of the most precious attributes we have in our life. Once lost, it is very hard to regain back - almost impossible.
Integrity though can seem to be of very less value on the Internet.
Having an online persona allows people to build up an image that in reality may not exist.
No one is obliged to give out his or her personal details out on the open. Having boundaries and protecting oneself is common sense.
However why does it feel like some people think that God doesn’t see what they do over the Internet?
Even Christians.
Whether it is cat-fishing or driving a political agenda without care for facts or financial incongruities with money, many so- called (even spiritual) Christians are entangled in this.
No one is accountable to anyone here but to God.
You can be whoever you want to be, but remember that God is watching you.
If you ever want to have a relationship with someone, then there has to be a level of trust as well as a level of risk.
Unless you are willing to be open with someone and show him or her who you really are, a relationship cannot grow.
If you don't want to, then don't pursue that relationship. Don't deceive anyone including your own self.
Meanwhile just because someone says a dozen things about who they are doesn’t mean they are that.
Test someone and search the facts so you don’t fall prey to being a victim of cat fishing… and even in real life.
Even though they seem to be very open, verify who they are, as much as you can.
Take your time.
Also apply the same principles you apply to others to yourself. Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated.
We all make mistakes… We all fall down.
But we need to pick up and repent. How valuable is the truth?
How important is integrity ? I am learning it is everything.
