Hi everyone. I'm Lori from Washington state, USA. I am a 59 year old widowed Christian sister. I am especially interested in meeting Christians from Australia, but am happy to chat with any believer or seeker. I really hope to get to know you all better!
Hmm... buckethead?

Anyway, howdy and welcome to the forum.

How do you pronounce your name?

We don't want to get it wrong, Mrs Lilbucket.

Am so sorry for your loss.

Well there is an Australian guy on this site who goes by the name of @Aussie52

Lilbucket is short for little bucket. Its what I used to call my Ford Aspire some years back. I used to say it aspired to be a car. You could sure get a lot of stuff in the back though.
Howdy Lowree. My grandma had a friend named Lowree. Nice lady.

In the Fallout video game series, the super mutants refer to the Brotherhood of Steel as bucketheads, because of the helmets the BoS wear.

The car sounds like a description in a Douglas Adams book. One of the main characters in the book drives a Citroen. A few years before the events of the book she had a minor driving accident, and in court they referred to the Citroen as "the alleged car." The name stuck. An Aspire is an alleged car. (But eh... So is my Elantra. Literally CANNOT squeal tires on that car. It just doesn't have the muscle. I've tried.)

Funny thing is that this morning I just happened to hear part of a sermon who was preaching in Washington state (Not the DC District of Criminals). There was a big picture of Mt St Helen behind him. I was about to make a joke about him blowing his top, but thought twice because new people don't always get my humor. It's easy because they aren't always funny. 😄

Now I just got done listening to a report from an American pastor in the Philippines (new member here from there too, shout out to @HymnHeart ).
He just got back from a new church in Melbourne Australia!
Here you are, an American who mentioned connecting with Australians.
Welcome to...

My name is actually Lori. I was just trying to explain how to pronounce my name. I like the alleged car. Can I ask why you want to squeal tires? Just curious. Nice chatting with you.

Just as a measure of the power, or lack thereof, in this particular car. I don't like wasting tire tread, so spinning tires is not something I usually do.

Although I used to have a Mazda MPV minivan that had so much power that I kept accidentally squealing tires. That was one really enthusiastic vehicle...

I know you're Lori, but there seem to be multiple ways to pronounce it. Another Lori I once knew pronounced it like a British truck used for hauling large loads, a lorry.
