So what books of the bible are "doctrinal" according to you. where do I use my scissors first?
Do you know how INSANE you guys sound?????
10 foot pole anyone???
home, i don't know what to say.
that dispensationalism thing you got going on is nuts.
i still love you though.
k...i'm out.
this is crazy, this 2013 denial of baptism thing.
oh, The Azusa Street Revival, why are you so relentlessly savaging the church?
tell what "but" means in acts 1:5 and why Paul wasnt called to baptise
and what do i do with my infant baptism...should i get re-baptised?
bap-tid'-zoThe point made is with specificity to the Cornelius event. Peter commanded that they be baptized and that is what is written. No one can make an allegory or metaphor out of it. The scripture--it "needs no"--further explanation.
Brotherly love to you also.![]()
My comments are made with brotherly love
It does not take the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Ghost. The following scriptures proves this:
Acts 1:12Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. 13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren...
2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
"While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God" (Acts 10:44-46).
These verses verify that they received the Holy Ghost without the laying on of hands. The Bible says “it” sat upon each of them (individually)—men and women equally shared in the experience—and the Holy Ghost filled each person and in the case of Cornelius it "came upon" each of them, once again, no laying on of hands.
1 Timothy 4:14 shows that the “laying of hands” is not to be performed by just any layperson but someone that understands the ramifications of the action. Notice Peter when dealing with the sorcerer did not lay hands on him because his heart was not right toward God.
We as Christians should accept what the scriptures say and disavow any suppositions that we may have had up to the point of truth.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding; Proverbs 4:7
I personally don't see why there is any confusion about baptism being Essential for salvation.
Jesus explained salvation or the "born again" experience in John 3:5 "born of water and Spirit"
Peter in Acts 2--"----be baptized(dipped, covered with water) for the REMMISSION of sins--"
Another example is in Acts 10:47:48 Cornelius and his household had received the Holy Ghost, Peter commanded them to be BAPTIZED. If you recall Peter had the keys to the Kingdom of God and he preached the same message in Acts 2 as he gave Cornelius. Study Acts 10 and Acts 11. Acts 11 is an overview of what happened in Acts 10.P gave
All the step of salvation are the same for everyone, no one is saved differently. Even though Cornelius was a Gentile the steps for salvation were the same.
In Acts Cornelius sent for Peter after an Angel told Cornelius to do so.
In Acts 11:14 Peter told Cornelius "words, whereby thou(Cornelius) and all thy house shall be saved." In Acts 10 they were baptized. It doesn't say Cornelius was baptized " for the remission of his sins" but why should it, when the same example is found in Acts 2?I n Acts 11:14 Peter told Cornelius "words, whereby thou(Cornelius) and all thy house shall be saved."
In Romans 6 being baptized into Christ,we are baptized into his death,. When we are baptized with him we are raised to walk in NEWNESS of life. Our old man is dead. We should not serve sin.Our sins?--remission!!!. Baptism is for remission of sins. WE can let the scriptures speak for themselves--you can twist the scriptures to fit your purpose--but the scripture still say the same thing. Water baptism doth now save us.
John 15:26[ The Work of the Holy Spirit ] “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.I am still waiting for a scripture that says we are "baptized with the Holy Spirit". Help me out Homwardbound or anyone else that believes this.I can find allot of baptized with water but nothing on Holy Spirit baptism.

was man on the cross next to Jesus baptisted. Did Johns baptism lead to salvation. Baptism like marriage is a declaration to the world. It is a cleansing declaring repentance. True repentance is only possible through the holy spirit in us, otherwise we would be saving ourselves. Jesus did everything on the cross, saying he didn't is another faith, not one that i know. You can quote scriptures all day long but i suggest you read the whole book.
Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, ephesians, Collosians, and the rest written by the Apostles to the Churches are Doctrinal, Acts is the history of and also Matt. Mark, Luke and John are the history HIS STORY. After the resurrection, Paul and others later sat down and wrote out corrections to all the diffearant churches to straighten out Heresy.
Now please find any other place in the Doctinal writngs (besides Peter) that anywhere it states in this new Covenant of the resurrected Christ we are to by commandment be water Babtised, and Peter does not command water Babtism in 1 peter as he did in Acts. And allthose that were found in water Babtism still needed to recieve the Holy Ghost as shown in Acts not the otehwr way around even though they got water Babtized afterwords if they had niot gotten water Babtized after they recieved the Holy Ghost would theyt have lost the Holy Ghost when Eph 1:13 says we are sealed with the Holy Ghost after we believed Hmm!!!!!!!!!
Water Babtism is no
ithing more than a fleshly act to want ot serve God or to be accepted by others in a group and can be a good act if one truly wants to know God, as this is what happened to me, I was water Babtized to know God because I wanted to know no matter waht the cost and became most miserable trying to obey and found I could not, but I just kept at it until I realized the differance between Flesh and Spirit, this is allthat I say there is a differance between the two and I choose Holy Ghost Babtism
Thank you in advance
2Ti_3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The Books from Romans to Jude were epistles written to already born again believers. They already repented, was water baptized and was filled with the HOLY SPIRIT.
Everyone has to endure till the end in order to be saved.
as stated before water baptism is a command, I gave you scripture for this already, many many times.
Homie your a mystic and I dont believe any of your garbage theology. You ignore scriptures, even saying they aint doctrine when all scripture is given for doctrine
Who are you trying to convince? me or you?
take away the scriptures, or instructions, and what will you teach with?
Whatever seems right in their own eyes. Its been going on since man has been on the earth. Jesus said it would be like in the days of Noah before He returns.take away the scriptures, or instructions, and what will you teach with?
Ephesians 2:8-9 [SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [SUP]9 [/SUP]Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 [SUP]8 [/SUP]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [SUP]9 [/SUP]Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I'm talking about works that produce salvation, not works that result from it.
When I first devoted my life to God I prayed to God about whether or not I should be baptized. This is the verse God gave me and what God told me.
Romans 2:27-29
God said to me; "just as
[SUP]27 [/SUP]The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.
[SUP]29 [/SUP]No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.
So also
[SUP]27 [/SUP]The one who is not BAPTIZED physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and BAPTISM, are a lawbreaker.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is BAPTISM merely outward and physical. [SUP]29 [/SUP]No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and BAPTISM is BAPTISM of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God."
So I asked God if I should then be baptized and God showed me verse after verse first Jesus baptism, then Saul's, and one after another from scripture being baptized. So I went to my pastor and asked to receive baptism physically even though I was already baptized inwardly.
Outward or physical baptism is just symbolic and witness to others of faith. It is important but meaningless without inward baptism. So then is baptism essential for salvation? Yes it is but not outwardly. Inward baptism is essential. What does baptism symbolize? It is symbolic of cleansing and rebirth. We all know you have to be born again to enter the kingdom of God. It is not the outward body that is cleansed or reborn but the inward. Baptism is baptism of the soul not baptism of the body. Baptism of the body is symbolic and important enough that Jesus told John “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.”
Outward baptism is not essential however it is important as a testimony or witness to faith. Inward baptism is essential. True baptism is inward but outward baptism should entail breaking through water. It is symbolic of rebirth. When a child is born they break through their mothers "water." Don't we all know that when a woman's "water" breaks it is a sign new life is coming forth? So also with symbolic outward baptism it is important that the person breaks through water. This means true physical baptism requires submersion.
May God's love and peace and Joy be with all of you by the power of the Spirit of God.
