Mansplaining is such a drag. :cautious:

I never get this from other women.
Also...I am not God. So of course what I write may be my opinion. As with everyone elses. Why do you want others to respond and not me because you didn't ask me??

Weird.

You just keep on being weird ok?
Read the Bible and pray.
Being single is the best.

Being a couple is, as I say, a drag because for a female you have to mansplain everything.

We all kind of know what fornication is. We are adults here and it's not like we don't know. There's no like, shame in it because practically everyone who didn't get married at 16 has done it.

I am a father and my daughter’s mother is a great mom. Our incompatible through god and many other things was bound sooner or later to destroy us, which it did. But a friendship remains. During the time and after this I have truly accepted that I must be a father first and only concern my life with that purpose unless someone god planted right in front of me came along. However know one in my 32 years every came along that even really wanted to think about church or god. Maybe over two. So I’ve made it my best effort to stay single and focus on god and my daughter. I do yearn for that intimacy and connection but refrain now from sex and anything that leads me to a path of self destruction. I’ve found at the end of the day, when I get lonely , I can pray to god and he gives me comfort. Does anyone find it hard to find someone truly interested and willing to live gods path? Or find it hard to stay single by choice? Im coming more at peace with it. Although many days still come up with loneliness and regrets from my past.
Being single relieves a lot of stress sometimes but getting married and raising children who come to the Lord IMO will bring a good reward.

By find someone you mean...find someone truly interested and willing to live god's path?
Or do you mean find someone truly interested in YOU and willing to live god's path.

Cos there are heaps of people interested and willing to live God's path on here. We are called Christians!!!

Find it hard to stay single by choice?
Ha well all the marriage proposals I had to deflect...nah
Not too hard, you just tell the other party you don't want a lover, you just need a friend and that's it. End of.

If they don't want to be friends with you - then see ya
If they want to be friends then hallelujah
If they want to continue to be a lover....well...then you may have a slight problem, you may have a predator/sex pest/stalker. But we'll cross that bridge when we get it it.

Did you ask for my opinion?? Or did you just ask everybody else's just not mine.

Confused!

I can relate to what you’re saying. I’m also walking that path with my three children, trusting God and putting Him first in my life. I’m a living testimony of God’s grace and mercy, and I believe He gives us strength and comfort when we feel alone.
May God continue to guide and strengthen you as you raise your daughter and walk faithfully with Him.
Howdy and welcome to the forum.

Ask apostle Paul and John, what they think about being single...

Oh lanolin , I think our disagreement must be over by now and we become good friends out of this, I must offer a truce and peace, this has gone on long enough. If I have offended you I am sorry.

It's ok
Mostly it's all in good humour, but I'm sorry too if it seems like I was getting too personal. Sometimes it just is and it's happened to me as well when people write something and it inadvertently is a bit too close to home, or I get triggered.

I realise that people are generally well meaning on here. Though miscommunication can be common and my Americanese isn't the best!

I still thought the house in War Room was huge. I know in general everything in the US is much bigger though as they have the room. It's not like in NZ now especially with the developments in my city, Auckland, the new houses are all tiny and will become the next slums. There was a trend for a time of Macmansions being built, so I just figured it was one of those,...

This was in another thread that must have triggered someone else lol. It would be like pointing out someone is fat. You just don't do that.

I guess we can both take something from it. We all can learn to be a little more empathetic , a little more kind, and especially a lot slower to jump to anger. Thanks for your apology all is good:)

I wish I lived in NZ. These Canadian winters drag on and on…..

I don't know how you survive. But at least you have insulation and warm homes. Ours get damp and mouldy, and it's only recently the nz govt mandated that homes actually had to be warm and dry.

I was amazed that homes in North America (Canada) had attics, and furnaces in the basement, cos in NZ we don't have those things. We just have little wooden shacks, or brick and tile shotgun houses, or hobbit holes.

I survive from my hot headed temper I suppose it’s always toasty around me haha.

Seriously though it’s a dreadful time of year, if it’s not the cold, it’s the snow, and if it’s not the snow , it’s the wind, and if it’s not the wind.., the darkness will come along and remind you that you can’t enjoy anything for too long lol

On a positive note. The bugs are gone, snakes are rare, and we don’t have to worry about a hurricane.

1 Corinthians ch 13 v 4 -7
Charity suffered long , and is kind ; charity envieth not ; charity vaunteth not itself , is not puffed up .
Doth not behave itself unseemly seeketh not her own is not easily provoked, thinkers no evil .
Rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth .
Bearers all things , believeth all things , hopeth all things , endureth all things .
Charity never faileth ….

May God bless his Word !

I have lived single my whole life and it is an easier way to live in some ways but not other ways . If a person has responsibilities towards others like a marriage or children . That’s a game changer. Your single life is over if you love them . I have heard of some people say because they were not actually married when they have kids , some how they are exempt from responsibility of the marriage. When two people join together they become one flesh . So the biggest part of marriage is complete. They may not have made a commitment verbally, but physically they did . And having children is the fruit . I’d say they are more married than not married. So my thoughts based on my Bible reading . I’m not pursuing this farther . God Bless!

Call it de-facto in NZ. Which is as good as married, has same benefits after living together for two or more years. You just didn't make it official.
If you not intimate or don't get along, that not really anyone else's business, if you live together, you are as good as married. Even if you officially married, a lot of married couples are like this anyway. Many have separate beds and think themselves as single, when they are not.

Sorry to question you on the technicalities, but I wouldn't want to give my opinion/wrong advice if I didn't fully understand your situation.

The whole unequally yoked thing does not exclusively refer to marriage. It can just be hanging out with unbelievers, or working with them. Besides, men and women together are ALREADY unequally yoked in the physical sense. It's more referring to brothers or sisters.
The entire passage (chapter 6) - look it up from the beginning - is referring to WORKERS together, not husbands and wives. Hence oxen imagery of a yoke.

I am not going to roll my eyes..it's just...so many Christians misinterpret this passage of scripture, and make it say things it doesn't actually mean. And this is coming from someone who didn't grow up in the church. So waddya know?

Unequal yoke refers to a believer with an unbeliever in almost any situation, where they are united. There is no agreement, only compromise at best . When an unbeliever is married to a believer or a similar situation it’s up to the unbeliever to leave , the believer try’s to win them over if they can by being faithful to the Lord . But that could drive the unbeliever away . And it could be a very troubling life , so let them go they want nothing to do with you . God is a God of peace . But that’s no justification for remarriage as some use . Perhaps at a later time they will come back in repentance? We don’t know . Just a few thoughts !

Don't ask me, I have been single for 12 years, and living alone for what seems like my whole life (40 years). I would marry out of desperation for companionship.
Hey I sincerely thought you were older so I was mustering courage to propose a lady at my church to you. I keep thinking of you when I see her😁 I am sorry I am not good at prying but I turn to do it often

One pastor once said it's better to be single and desiring relationship than being in a relationship desiring to be single. Marriage, relationship and family are worldly pursuits, they don't exist in the afterlife.
