Children often live and play in a world of make believe with princesses, fairies,
superman etc. It's all about growing up and using their imagination to play and
express themselves.
I don't know of many who promote the idea of the easter bunny in this neck of the
woods. But going back to Santa Clause, as long as it is treated as good clean fun and
not taken too seriously - I see nothing wrong.
Most kids come to realise and understand Santa is just a bit of pretend fun, all on their
own. As far as I know, no one has been physiologically damage as a result of a bit of make
believe in Santa. No one gets traumatised for life etc.
Lets face it, they are more likely to be influenced and corrupted by the make believe world of
TV than santa clause. Most TV, movies and theatre are just a grown up version of make believe.
For people who want to ban Santa and the Easter Bunny, they may want to look at their
own viewing habbits on TV and stick to factual programmes in future.
I for one rather enjoy a bit of make believe sci -fi
and I like talking about santa.
