Too bad missionaries weren't sent to the monkeys. He only knew unredeemed men.

I always heard that said as, I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out...I once went to a boxing match and a hockey game broke out.
That's the way I've always heard it too. But, we are to be all things to all people. I'm actually praying that the next boxing match I attend a raucous game of bingo breaks out.I always heard that said as, I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out...

Seems to me we are the church .Bingo outside of a church environment is simply a game. Bringing it into churches is what creates a problem.
Phariseeism is alive and well.Shame on the Pharisees.
Jesus came for the sinners yet some on here believe playing bingo are sinners.
It's no wonder people don't want to come to church.
Kids love Christmas trees.Do you think Christ established our churches to teach us about the Kingdom of God and does not want to teach anything about the kingdom of the world?
When Nebuchadnezzarii (ruler of ancient Babylonia) conquerored Judah to send Jews to Babylon to live as prisoners, they lived in a land very like our land today. The people looked to the stars and idols to quide them, as people do today. Instead of metal and stone idols, they use man made rules in self help books and psyciatry. Every newspaper today gives an article about what the stars say about people's star sign.
Gradually, the Jews accepted the ways of the pagans they lived among, as the Christians of today are accepting the pagan ways of the pagans we live among.
Because one day you put a Christ-mas tree in the fellowship hall the next you will be playing bingo and smoking the pot right in the church during the service, and calling it worship. Its the devil i tell ya.Kids love Christmas trees.
As long as the primary focus is on Jesus, I can't see how a tree makes any difference.
Does the New Testament teach us to think this way?
The Old Testament had a uniform for the priest and Hebrews could not wear mixed fabrics. I know of no specific temple uniform for nonpriests.
Because one day you put a Christ-mas tree in the fellowship hall the next you will be playing bingo and smoking the pot right in the church during the service, and calling it worship. Its the devil i tell ya.
So call them "church buildings". No big deal.Seems to me we are the church .
Right we understand also that the poor cant spend much money on clothes, and that new folks may just not know or understand. We arent creating a law or dress code. We are trying to present ourselves with respect. And you do what ya can. If its a tshirt then the best one ya got. I remember when that was my best. A good T and a pair of jeans.I think you missed my point on this one. It's not about riches. It's about not going to church wearing torn up jeans or a graphic message on a t-shirt. Now if someone is a newcomer and doesn't know the difference fine. But I think we should dress respectfully going to church.
New Testament admonitions on clothing have to do with not displaying gold and pearls and not despising those in vile rainment.Right we understand also that the poor cant spend much money on clothes, and that new folks may just not know or understand. Sometimes how we phrase things matter. So call them "church buildings". No big deal.
