Is It Possible To Go 24 Hours WITHOUT A SIN?

The sad part is it's not all that funny,they use a hammer on everyone else even those who are struggling and instead of lifting a finger,or even a word of encouragement,or gently trying to restore one who has stumbled,they will throw an anchor to a drowning man.

been doing that for awhile now. same ole stuff.. Maybe they think it makes them more holy?? they are getting brownie points from god or something??
 
Basically, they know deep down they are not perfect, but believe they only commit minor sins, so they will be OK.
As long as they can avoid the 'taboo sins' God will in no wise cast them out, they will attain Heaven by succeeding in living a good enough life.

They know, that in their mind they sin, but this is acceptable for they do not fail according to where they have set the bar if you like
ie
They don't watch pornographic films, read pornographic literature, have affairs, get drunk, smoke or use foul language.
God will honour that and turn a blind eye to the rest/excuse it, because they are nowhere near as sinful as Joe bloggs down the road who professes to be a Christian

Perfect-telioo-mature,reach a goal....not sinless perfection as some fleshly minded people dream of.
 
Since the Lord Jesus summed up the Law and the Prophets with the two great Laws of Love,
each and every moment of each and every day that we fail to love the Lord our God with ALL our hearts, souls and strength, and fail to love our neighbor AS ourselves, we SIN.

word...deed...thought.
God cares about our thought life.
Jesus died for that!

Which also goes into motives. Even if one were to do something good but it's with the wrong motive it's still a sin.
 
I remember my pastor saying once: "The goal of a Christian is to sin less, not to become sinless." Of course we should strive to be sinless because the closer we are to perfection the more like Jesus we will be. But the above illustrates that we should have realistic goals as a Christian and NOT walk in sin like the unsaved.

One other that goes with what sin is,say you have a new guy at work,hasn't worked in months can't afford lunch do you ignore him or do get him lunch and bring some groceries the next day? If you ignore a person in need it is not out of love. How about the guy that comes into work scruffy looking? Do you ignore him or do you talk to him? Jesus said what ever you done for the least of these you have also done unto Him.

This is so often misquoted - THE LOVE OF money is the root of all evil, not the money itself, but the love of money is what causes the wedge. And only the love of and for God can save us.

I thought about this topic because of another post I responded to the other day. She said she sins every half hour some days and I thought what could she possibly be doing ever 30 minutes? I thought about my day, thinking I hadn't sinned but I realized I did go over the speed limit that morning, I did get frustrated while in line to pay for gas (I don't think I showed it but still inside I wasn't being patient), and I worried about the bills I cannot pay. Are these sins? Is this what that other member may have been talking about? What this thread is talking about?

To the bolded. . . I believe so, yes.

When we put on the "new man" we are to "not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouths - and we are to put away bitterness (unforgiveness), rage and anger (intolerance, impatience, etc.), brawling and slander (arguing, gossip, etc.), along with every form of malice. Some of these things we have been doing so long that they just seem normal! And some are harder to put away than others!!!

(Note: words in parenthesis > my own)
 
To answer your initial question: Can we go 24 hours without sin?
Yes.

How do I know that ?
Christ commanded us to be like His Father, perfect.
And He gave us a promise that He will never give us something to do which is beyond our ability which He gives us.

that word means mature, not perfect as in sinless.

God did not give us a command to be sinless. he gave us a command to be mature, and learn to be like the father is.. with perfect love.

A baby cdoes not learn perfect love as a baby he must mature.. a baby Christian has no capacity or knowledge of how to have perfect love (as God loves)
 
You can go 24 hours without sinning if you are in a coma, maybe. I think sin is both performed and inherent. It's something we do, and it's something that is inherent in our flesh (which is corruptible and subject to death).
 
If i even tried do you think id be exerting my flesh power
and be doing it out of pride? Hmm

How do these sinless ones rest in God's provisions. For what do they give thanks.? How, being perfect do they have empathy towards us struggling earthlings? Is mercy a concept foreign to them?
