In Luke 16 we are told of a beggar named Lazarus, who died, while in John 12 and John 12 we are told of a Lazarus, (brother to Mary and Martha) who also died, In the story found in Luke, many call a parable, the rich suggests that Father Abraham send Lazarus back from the dead to warn his brothers not to come to that place of torment, proving he did not just burn up. This prompts Father Abraham's response which proved true on more than one level.

Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

In Luke 11:43 Jesus beckons Lazarus back from the dead with the command, "Lazarus, Come Forth." Lazarus is raised from the dead.

Jumping back to Father Abraham's comment that closed the sixteenth chapter of Luke, he was proven true as when Lazarus was brought back from the dead, the chief priests and Pharisees sought to kill him again. Also, Jesus, once resurrected, did not sway the Jewish leaders to reconsider their understanding of the law, or acceptance of the Messiah they had put to death, nor did they repent and believe as many other Jews did.

In the telling of the rich man and Lazarus story, was Jesus speaking of a future event?

Were the two Lazurus names mentioned the same person?

Is there a story within the texts we have overlooked for centuries?

Pro_25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Nope....

Guys named Chip, Doug, or even John are really common. There is no surname given. Like "Joseph of Arimathea", Judas of Iscariot. (Judas was another popular name...like Jude.

I am sure they are the same person.

2Co_13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
